New Persona 2: Innocent Sin Trailer Has Glimpse Of Theater Mode

By Spencer . March 29, 2011 . 10:02am

Atlus just released a new trailer for Persona 2: Innocent Sin. It starts out by introducing the main characters, Philemon, and the Joker. A rumor spread around town that if you dial your own cell phone the Joker will grant you a wish.

After the bit with demon negotiation, Atlus introduces Motoko Mitsugi and the Climax Theater. This new element made for the PSP version is a hub for new quests made by Atlus staff and players. Atlus created a Charisma Classroom episode to follow. Players can use Persona 2: Innocent Sin’s quest editor to create their own stories which can be accessed at the Climax Theater.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin comes out on April 14 in Japan.

  • Well this game looks hot. I wonder if the game will be fully voiced like P3P because P1P wasn voiced if I remember (just in those anime scenes and fighting moments). Well I need to replay P1P just for the sake of being ready for the eventual localization and release of P2P, I guess. Sounds like a cool story.

There is no new or redone voice acting in the Japanese version, this means only some very few and far between lines of text and battles are voiced, going with the original. The american version is probably going to expand that a bit. I don’t expect, say, full or a good a mount of voice acting, but they did give P1 more voice acting than the Japanese version had(P1 only had battles voiced, the american version voiced the movies, and no, they were not anime, they were CG).

    English now Atlus~!

  • Reitsumi

Atlus USA, please say something about the game

    • No kidding, they even announced that “Devil Survivors Wut lul Remake” before this.

    • OneOkami

This has actually been discussed here in the past, Atlus USA typically doesn’t announce in-house game localizations until some time AFTER its released in Japan.

  • Zero_Destiny

That was great. Can’t wait for it to come out in the US :3 Oh god do I really love that song. Knights of the Holy Lance is just such an awesome song!!! I can’t wait to play the game it came from.

    • Ren

It’s also part of the original opening, actually, I first thought they were playing the opening before I remembered there was another piece like that. The remade battle theme sounds so much better.

      • Zero_Destiny

Nice!!! I already knew that, it’s one of the reasons why I love the theme so much. :) I think I like the old opening better to be honest. It’s so spooky and [email protected] XD Really what makes the version used in the opening really good is the slow build-up. The piano in the background everything’s peaceful and you feel a sense of regret then the garage door opens light shines in and everything kicks up and is crazy. It’s great. I love the theme in the anime video. It was so cool. The first time I heard the theme actually. Whenever I here it I want to shout out Perusona!!!!!!

        • My fire alarm rang when I was watching that. Scared the living heck outta me.

          • Zero_Destiny

lol I hope your house didn’t burn down. :D

        • Aw man Eternal Punishment, now that was some crazy sh**! xD

          • Zero_Destiny

            *Sssshhhhhh* No spoilers :P

        • Ren

Really? I disliked the piano part a lot, it actually took me a lot of time to start liking the opening and I always jump to the last part because that piano part just annoys me. I really liked Unbreakable Ties, not at first, but that damn engrishy Lotus Juice rap kinda etched in my mind and the female vocals were very good, I actually prefer it compared to the original opening, but only because of the piano part. And it actually seems the the whole music makes sense, that would be a first for anything with Lotus Juice involved(seriously, I still laugh on P3FES ‘more cheddar’ line). Well, I still prefer Dream of Butterfly over them all. Ugh, I remembered I still have to go through your musics, damn my postponing self.

          • Zero_Destiny

Yes I was the same way. It really took awhile but after repeat listenings I fell in love with it. I think it just takes time to get into. Plus it’s best to listen to when your not looking for excitement. Lotus Juice gets you pumped to play the game. The older opening spooks you and just sticks with you. I do love Lotus Juice and all there Engrish XD P3FES’ theme is so great because of that. lol I dig the new opening especially since they put cheesy 90’sish sound effects in it. I’m sucker for that!!! Great Openings both of them.
P1? I love that opening too. I just wish there was a longer version to it. All I can find is small 1 or 2 minute versions. :( If you want to talk about butterflies and P1 then I dig Let The Butterflies Spread Until The Dawn. Such an awesome song. :)
I’m still awaiting your answers for more music on LUNCH. :) Don’t disappoint me. lol

Hopefully this will be localized! I think the Persona series is their most popular after Demon’s Souls. =)

    • OneOkami

Demon’s Souls is a game developed by From Software, produced by Sony and localized by Atlus USA. Its not an Atlus IP like Persona.

      • Wackoramaco87

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying!

  • PrinceHeir

    sooo awesome :P

  • Is anyone else digging the remade version of Maya’s Theme they have at the end of the video? I also really like the new version of the battle theme. It looks like the new music is a reimagining of the awesome songs in the PSX version, which should be awesome.

With it coming out in a couple weeks, I can’t wait to hear more tunes from it, which should hold me over…until we get it, at least.
