Solatorobo: Red The Hunter Spotted In Europe

By Spencer . April 5, 2011 . 8:40am

solato Namco Bandai still hasn’t said anything official about releasing Solatorobo outside of Japan. However, CyberConnect2’s Nintendo DS game keeps popping up in rating boards. I think we have the international title too.

Solatorobo: Red the Hunter was trademarked by Namco Bandai in Europe. Unless Namco Bandai is planning another game starring a hunter named Red (the main character in Solatorobo is Red Saravin) we’re betting this is for the DS game on your right.

I asked Makoto Iwai, Bandai Label President, about a North American release and he replied with, "I don’t think we have a plan to bring that title here, but we are always in talks with CyberConnect2 for future projects."

A Solatorobo release for Europe, but not North America is possible. Namco Bandai localized Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood for PSP and a bunch of One Piece games only for release in PAL territories.

  • EU exclusives like this, tingle and Inazuma 11 almost make up for the vast swathes of RPGs that never come over here.

  • Oh man that’s why I for one love Namco Bandai <3
I already had lost any hope about Solatorobo, but now I'm sure as hell happy like a spoiled cat! x3

  • Code

Guess I’ll have to import +o+ Been following this game for awhile but recently lost track of it, any word on how it did in Japan?

  • Kris

Sweet, I was worried this was dead in the West! I hope it gets a US release though, since isn’t it DSi-enhanced and therefore region-locked?
Edit: for DSi users like myself, that is…

    • malek86

Yes, I heard the game won’t work on a different coded DSi. Or 3DS, for that matter.

I always knew that people trading their Lite for a DSi in droves, were someday bound to get a bad surprise. Always stick to the most region free product!

      • Zero_Destiny

Heheheheh That’s why I kept my lite when I bought a DSi. I’m clever like that. :p

      • Solatorobo is a DSi-enhanced game and unfortunately those are semi-region locked. You can still play DSi-enhanced games in a DS Lite or “phat” DS sans DSi-enhanced features. These games, like KORG DS-10 Plus and [email protected] DS, won’t work in a DSi, DSi XL or 3DS.

  • We’re getting Graces f, US>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Europe. XD

But TBH, I wish Europe will also get a localization soon. I want everyone in the world to test the greatness of Tales!

  • urbanscholar

I’m happy for my Euro gamer friends. Honestly its about time you guys get the goods first and we wait.

    • Ladius

You’re too kind sir, as an European I’m grateful to the USA publishers for actually translating hundreds of titles I can import and enjoy, it’s sad how only an extremely small number of niche European publishers (Ghostlight, Nobilis and now-deceased DHM are the only ones I can remember) actually try to localize new games without waiting for a cheap USA licence to buy. Then again, delays for jrpgs localized by big companies (sometimes even without Multi-5 support) have been really excruciating in the past generations.

  • Pichi

If it doesn’t come over, I’ll import. Want to believe it’ll come over to NA, but its Namco…

  • Furries everywhere are celebrating.

    • Woot!

    • puchinri

And the few of us who aren’t furries but just want the game. But that’s probably a tiny crowd…

  • Dam when did Europe become so cool! Back in the day they had to wait a full year to get games. Now they are getting everything before US.

  • Zero_Destiny

    Must Import <3
I don't know why but the art just gives me a Breath of Fire kind of feel to it. Maybe it's because Breath of Fire had so many Demi-people or whatnot in it. Well anyways even though the gameplay will be different I think this is going to be the closet I can get to a Breath of Fire kinda game for awhile. I really want it.

  • I nearly lost hope with the European release since we haven’t heard anything since the rating last year! But, if they trademarked a localized name it’s surely on its way.

The good news is that there will be a localized version of this game outside of Japan. Maybe a publisher will pick it up for NA too, especially if an English version exists!

Bad news is it’s still possible we won’t see it here. Luckily we can import from Europe if that’s the case. :3

  • puchinri

If Europe gets it, I’m happy for them and wouldn’t mind importing. Win-win?

  • another day-one I think…^^ too many games but not enough money :(

  • port tail concerto on the ds too please

  • Gio32k

Well I wouldn’t mind hacking my DSi just to play this. Annoying region locks..

  • Heck yes I am excited I am so importing this one I have been waiting for this to be translated. cannot friggin wait. I want this yesterday. lol

  • lukas

I Hope this to be true
I beat the japanese version 2 times, and I LOVED it
it´s one of the best DS games i have ever played
and I really wana kwno more about the history

also, I hope the collector edition to hit Euro too
    I would buy that

  • Pokemon B/W is also DSi enhanced, yet only the japanese version is region locked, not the other regions.

  • Joanna

Happy to hear this is getting some sort of English release……my list of DS games to import is growing.
