By Spencer . April 11, 2011 . 1:32pm

Visit the Climax Theater in Persona 2: Innocent Sin and you can enter visit the world of Shin Megami Tensei If…. A quest called "The Persona Robber" made just for the PSP version takes players to Karukozaka High where students lacking ambition wander the halls.

This quest also gives players access to two new personas, Persephone and Kushiel.

Yes, the romanization Atlus posted is "Chushiel," but I’m pretty sure it’s Kushiel, an angel and one of the Seraph class demons from a previous Shin Megami Tensei game. Persephone was a Reaper class demon in Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey with wind spells like Magarudyne. In Persona 2: Innocent Sin she can cast Gryva, a gravity attack.

I feel bad about thinking this way, but the designs for those two are a little stale. Kushiel looks like a generic Angel-type demon…Persephone just doesn’t appeal to me. Still, the more the better! Liking these announcements more every day. Maybe eventually we’ll even hear of a localisation for all this content. :D

    • Zero_Destiny

Persephone is the s***!!!! XD It’s because you didn’t play Strange Journey. GO play it and you’ll see how awesome it is. I so want that thing to be my PERSONA!!!! ^_^

      • Exkaiser

Persephone’s design here originates from Devil Summoner and Soul Hackers, as do most of the Strange Journey demons. I have to say that I love Kaneko’s designs from those two games the most of his SMT work.

god no, strange journey is just BAD
…ok, not bad, but i just don’t like it all that much =/

        • Zero_Destiny

You’re crazy Strange Journey is one of the best games I’ve played recently!!!!! XD

          • Yui

Maybe I am crazy. But honestly, I just could not get into it. Mainly because I lost my file about four hours in and the game simply didn’t win me over enough to put all that time back in. :D

Truly in which way is Strange Journey bad? Such and awesome dungeon crawler for the NDS man! The story is crazy as hell too!

          • Zero_Destiny

It was so awesome it compelled me to write this:
I love that game. The story is so crazy. XD

          • Yui

I think the bit where I said “not bad” really answers that question, bro. :P
But, if you need specificity, I’m just not its biggest fan. I played Devil Survivor at the same time, approximately, and I just loved it to high heaven. Strange Journey kinda fell by the wayside next to it!

          • https://twitter.com/RaiohV ShinkaRaioh

Haha, I’m sorry about that, should’ve read more carefully. xd
Well I can understand that it looked kinda boring next to Devil Survivor, I like that one more too, though, you should maybe consider trying Strange Journey again sometime~ :3

          • Kibbitz

Devil Survivor vs Strange Journey. Liked Devil Survivor more but hated the gameplay. In the end, I finished Devil Survivor only once, getting Yuzu’s ending. I enjoyed SJ’s gameplay more, but the story didn’t click for me, and it got worse when I went for Law route the second time (after going Chaos route) the first time and not seeing anything notably different in terms of playthrough. Never finished my Neutral run of it.

          • Yui

I probably will at some point, and then I’ll change my mind. But until then, I’m going to carry on being an obstinate nooksniffer, because that’s how I roll. :P

I didn’t like Persephone in SJ. >:( She was mean to me.

Probably because Kushiel was taken from an older SMT demon design. It kinda shows in the colour scheme and the drawing :D

      • Yui

Yeah, it reminded me of the old designs, but…I’m more partial to the stylings of new-era artists, to be honest. Very little of the traditionalist angel stuff really wins me over, sadly. XD

    Persephone looks so friggin’ cool!

ATLUS USA, my body is ready XD

  • DDanny

Well, I’m glad to see Kushiel’s back. Tired of seeing mostly Angel,Virtue, Dominion,Power etc every megaten.

It’s often the same angel’s anyway. Gabriel, Michael, Uriel, Kushiel and Metatron. To Atlus’ credit of course they also remember that angels often look nothing like common depictions of winged humanoids (see Thrones).

Persephone sounds interesting even if the design isn’t the greatest. I’m sad to say that Kushiel looks a bit generic. Maybe if he was pitch black or was devoid of muscle and facial features or just had a mouth and nothing resembling eyes.

  • Angeru_Lito

I don´t know why but for some reason all this is info for a game that Im going to play even tough Atlus hasn´t say anything about a localization , but given Atlus past actions this game is going to get it we don´t have to worry

  • cocytusx

Gry is an Almighty spell, not a gravity one.

  • PrinceHeir

more persona’s is always good :P
