BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II Rebels On Nintendo 3DS In May

By Spencer . April 12, 2011 . 6:41am

bbcsa You probably *guessed* Aksys would release BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II here. Now, it’s official. Nintendo’s spring release schedule leaked Aksys’ plans and noted the Nintendo 3DS version will be in stores on the same day as Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion, May 24.

Arc System Works released BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II on PSP and 3DS in Japan. Since the news came from Nintendo no mention of the PSP version was made, but we’re betting Aksys won’t (roman) cancel a domestic PSP release. We’re going to check in with Aksys to see if they have any more information.

The Nintendo 3DS version has stereoscopic 3D graphics, a feature the PSP version does not have. For more about the differences between the two versions check this post.

  • Even while sick, I will still try to post. Definitely looking to get this game on the 3DS on day 1. I cant wait for it. Its also the same day as the Soul Eater Blu-Ray (first 26 episodes, love the openings and Soul x Black Star), woot.

  • Oh, Aksys, about that patch…

  • kyuketsukimiyu

I am very excited for this. I just can’t enjoy SSFIV as much as I enjoy BlazBlue~

  • RagnaXBL

So umm they didn’t mention if that was an EU or a US release…

    • This article is tagged in the upper section as USA. Further the information comes from a Nintendo of America Press Release.

      • RagnaXBL

ahh must have missed the little US flag :D, didn’t see any mention about nintendo of america though

Lol nvm i see its on the front page, wish they’d just put everything in the article 0_0

    • It’s tagged as US plus Aksys doesn’t release BlazBlue titles or other Arc System Works games in Europe, Zen United does.

  • Aksys, time to take out the guns

  • Since this is BB, shouldn’t you use *rapid* cancel instead? XD

Edit: Gah, it was already mentioned on the headlines. Force roman cancel this comment.

    • PrinceHeir

      you’ve been Astral Finished!!!!

looks awesome, might have to check out the 3DS version, but both are fine :P

  • DemonicX

I was excited for it before, but I heard that it doesn’t even have online. I think I’ll be sticking to my 360 version.

  • cmurph666

I’m still waiting for that 3rd DLC character for my PS3.

  • YAY! So glad to hear this makes me want a 3DS even more.^_^

  • Istillduno

Heres hoping that either Aksys leave off the region lock on the 3DS version or Zen don’t take half a year to get it over here.

    • vadde939

Unfortunately 3DS region lock is not optional like the 360 but required for all games like the Wii so if you’ve got a PAL 3DS (I do too) you’ll just have to wait for Zen. :(

  • But, when can console players use Platinum?

    • Aiddon

I would like to know that as well.

  • Hopefully more then 6000 copies will be sold.

  • mikanko

Hoping the console patch hits before SSF4AE’s June 7th patch. If it’s any later I doubt it’ll be in time for Evo. No one cares about CS1, and I’d like to see something streamed at Evo that’s not SF4 or MvC3.

  • Zal_Yagun

would that mean the psp version is coming that time as well?

  • Darkrise

Plz let there actually be a psp release. DX I’m not going to buy the 3DS T.T

  • Oh! Stereoscopic 3D graphics. So there is a difference between the PSP and 3DS, but for a 2D game? Ok.

  • The lack of online multiplayer is a bit of a bummer. :/

  • xflame10

darn i hate to have my first 2 3ds games be fighting games……. but i always wanted to play blazblue and never had the console for it…… ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

  • Gah… they better localized the psp version too…!
