imageSega’s arcade port producer Noriyuki Shimoda tweeted that Cyber Troopers Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangram and After Burner Climax are on sale right now. Both games are half off, so Virtual-On goes for 600 Microsoft Points ($7.50) and After Burner Climax is 400 Microsoft Points ($5).

While the announcement was made in Japan, the sale applies in North America. We checked and both Sega titles are the same price. Get ’em while they’re hot and on sale, if you don’t have them already.

One, I thought this was on disc?

Two, if it isn’t, if it is a DL title, then why isn’t it being offered on PSN as well? Seems pointless to offer an old title like this on one platform.

Oratorio Tangram is an XBLA title. Not sure about ABC.

Pretty sure Afterburner is on both, which still begs why Virtual-On isn’t. Both are old arcade games, but where AB is very much a new title, VO isn’t. My even be a PC port.

If anything, it’s probably a port of the Dreamcast version.

VOOT on XBLA is actually a port of arcade version 5.66 (for reference, the DC version was based on 5.45). This version is also when Sega moved VOOT to Naomi hardware instead of Model 3.

    • Virtual-On Force is a disc game for Xbox 360. After Burner Climax was released only as a digital download for PSN and XBLA.

Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangram (being region free) is one of many factors really making me consider getting an XBOX 360, there are so many great exclusive titles.
