The Five Races In Wizardry: Labyrinth Of Lost Souls

Start Wizardry: Labyrinth Of Lost Souls and you’ll see a screen like this prompting you to create a character.

Character Creation

Wizardry: Labyrinth Of Lost Souls has five races to choose (from left to right): human, dwarf, elf, gnome, and porklu.

Each race has a different set of base attributes. Dwarfs start out with high strength and vitality. Gnomes, on the other hand, are blessed with high piety, but low physical strength, which make them the perfect priests. Humans are well rounded and porklu are… I don’t know. I guess they’re a kind of hobbit?

After you pick a race and gender, you can select one of eight classes. Then its time to take your six person party into the dungeon where Creeping Coins await. With over 120 kinds of monsters, Wizardry: Labyrinth Of Lost Souls is sure to have something more fearsome than pocket change.

Combat footage (weaker enemy)

Wizardry: Labyrinth Of Lost Souls is slated for a spring release on PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network.

Apparently one of the races is elf Sephiroth. More to follow.

I hadn’t thought of it before, but the art here looks a bit like the Red Stone art. Usually, I’d expect a bigger difference between races (those gnomes…), but it looks nice. I missed the localization announcements, so it’s nice to know now.

This looks like standard D&D fare. Obviously, I would take the dwarf. Nobody wants to be the halfling anyway.

    • Ereek

      Agreed, no one likes Halflings.

Also, Elf for me. Human is just too boring and I won’t take it when given the choice for anything else.

    • Moriken

I miss the Wizardry-Races since I know Wizardry (which was Bane of the cosmic forge)…those cat- and dog-races and all that stuff :D
      And yeah, Halflings are…*censored*

I love these games, but I’m so terrible at them.

I’m assuming the gnome is the Potter-esque chap that developed unicorn-hunting tendencies.

  • SetzerGabbiani

Makes me want to finish playing Etrian Odyssey 3.

  • Zero_Destiny

I always liked the dwarfs and dwarf like races in other games. Prob will go with that. <3

  • Jirin

What’s up with these character designs? All the races just look like humans. Human supermodels, actually.
