redkatanaCave region-locked Red Katana Shin, so you won’t be able to run it unless you have a Japanese Xbox 360. You can still play part of Red Katana Shin, though!

Makota Asada posted on the Cave blog that a playable demo for Red Katana Shin is in the works. Asada wrote spent so much time working on the demo he has to spend his Golden Week vacation on Instant Brain, an upcoming adventure game for Xbox 360.

A release date for the demo was not announced. While you’re waiting, you might want to check out Nin2-Jump. Cave’s first original game for Xbox Live Arcade is available today for 400 Microsoft Points ($5).

Curious why you guys translate “Akai” but leave the rest of the title in its native language. It looks really awkward to me.

Since it’s a Japanese game, why not leave the Japanese title? Everyone who cares about the game already knows it as Akai Katana. It’s not as if Siliconera readers are unfamiliar with seeing Japanese names.

If someone ends up localizing it and going with a different name, I understand using the new localized title. A good example – Siliconera always used the Japanese name for the Sora no Kiseki series in the Japanese releases, but in reference to the Xseed published English localizations you went with the localized Trails in the Sky title.

    • Looks pretty nice to me, hope CAVE goes with Red Katana when they localize it

Yea, I’ve always thought it was weird too.. everywhere pretty much leaves it as Akai Katana Shin.. If you translate, wouldn’t it be Red Sword True or at least Red Katana True.. I guess katana is a familiar enough Eng. word like sake or sushi..

Anyway, pre-ordered so I wouldn’t miss the extra voice DLC like w/ Deathsmiles (the US ver still doesn’t have the voices even though it includes Black Label). Getting Ninja game to support the cause too..

Still don’t know how the chars turn to ships anyway lol.. but the mix of ancient Jpn w/ submarines is pretty cool..

rar, I picked up Nin2-Jump today and buzzed right through it — thought it was absolutely addictive, visually sharp, and really good value too >w<~! Basically like if you took Super Meat Boy, and gave it a Cave twist to it — although surprisingly not as hard as Super Meat Boy or most Cave titles; but I think it does make sitting down and play for time/score much easier going then SMB, and probably will give it more wide appeal then many Cave titles.
