Fruit Ninja Kinect Sliced For Xbox 360

By Spencer . April 28, 2011 . 12:32pm

fruitdHalfbrick’s popular smartphone game Fruit Ninja is coming to Xbox 360 and it’s Kinect enabled.

The news comes to us from Korea where the Game Ratings Board (i.e. Korea’s version of the ESRB) rated Fruit Ninja Kinect. No news on how the game will work, but it isn’t hard to imagine since we have this video.

Anyone interested in karate chopping HD fruit with Kinect?

  • Oh yeah! Now I can do punches and kicks.

  • Seems a bit bare-bones for XBLA

It’s actually perfect for an XBLA game. Make it 200 MSP and I’m sure they’d sell a LOT

      • Isn’t 400 msp the minimum? Doesn’t this go for 99 cents on iPhone?

        • Aara_Malik_Davoodi

There are a few that go for 200 MSP. And it does go for 99 cents, but I figured they’d charge more on XBLA because it’s a higher quality product, and 400 MSP ($5) just seems too much unless there’s some massive upgrading taking place

There should be some major additions beyond just HD graphics. I predict 2-player multiplayer & maybe online play as well as some extra modes. Should probably be about 800 points.

Well, I agree, but isn’t that the way the market is going when it comes to “casual platform game” adaptations to home consoles?

I mean, angry birds and others. I wouldn’t say they’re better on platforms more like extensions… Seems to be in vogue, but shouldn’t work so well for them? On the other hand it’s variety, and perhaps the same kind of player tht enjoyed them there, casually can do the same here.

Unrelated but… I also see the whole kinect and move embracing right now as proof that the rest of this generations game market is getting really saturated now. This seems like the only “Blue ocean” left in the HD platforms to explore.
