AKB48 And 70+ Other Songs In Taiko No Tatsujin Portable DX

By Spencer . May 5, 2011 . 1:07pm

imageTaiko no Tatsujin is coming back to PSP with a ton of songs. The next game in the series, Taiko no Tatsujin Portable DX has over 70 tunes to drum to and many of them are pop hits between 2010-11.

AKB48’s "Heavy Rotation" is confirmed as well as "Thank You" from Ikimono-gakari. Like other games in the long running Taiko Drum Master series there will be an assortment of anime theme songs, variety music, and video game melodies.

A song from the popular PSP game Monster Hunter Portable 3rd will be in Taiko no Tatsujin Portable DX where felynes boogie in the background. And since this is a Namco Bandai music game you know there’s an [email protected] tie-in song too.

Taiko no Tatsujin Portable DX will be in stores on July 14. Post-launch, Namco Bandai will release more songs – J-Pop, anime, and Namco originals as downloadable content.

  • I wonder what’s the song list like?

I almost forgot: I wanna see some Ar tonelico and SRW as DLCs.

When I visited Korea I played the arcade version for the first time. Any console or portable system can’t measure up to the fun of the big drum and sticks… But I’m still getting it for the tunes lol

    • How is the arcade controls compared to the drum set-up the console releases been given? (those who bought the localized PS2 game got the drum)
Was a fun game, but the North American song list was lacking and killed the mood.

I too wouldn’t mind importing this for the music. ^_^ I haven’t bought one since the PS2 game but whatever this looks like a big package of a release.

    • Are there K-pop songs on the arcade version in Korea or the same tracks as in Japan?

      • I only ran into one Taiko machine in Korea. The banners were changed, but the game itself was the Japanese version. I’ve never heard of a Korean regionalized version…

oh god i remember this being played on the arcades(which they still do)

this along with DJ Max, DDR, Beatmania, Guitar Freaks, Drumania, and are the true music games. not that Rockband or Guitar Hero crap.

Yay more Taiko, even now I’ve gotten used to the DS version. When I played the arcade version I failed a lot though -.- Then cotinued playing Pop N’ Music.
