They may be from different series, but Kou Uraki and Setsuna F. Seiei can clash swords in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3. Characters and mobile suits from Gundam 00, Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, Gundam UC, and After War Gundam X are newly added to Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3.

All of the series, new and old, have been revised for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 with cel-shaded graphics to give the game more of an anime feel.

Namco Bandai has not set a specific release date for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3. It’s slated for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America this summer.

Kou without fifty million lines on his face? Not even sure it’s the same guy.

    • https://twitter.com/RaiohV ShinkaRaioh

True enough and even without the lines he doesn’t look like Kou at all, something’s just wrong there..

  • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

Setsuna F Seiei, Setsuna F Seieo, Setsuna F Seiei, cant wait cant wait! I cant wait! Day 1, I hope the June 28 date on AMZN is true!

  • Altritter

I can’t believe it took them this long to add 0083 and Gundam X. You’d think they’d have added them in the first game; I’m also pretty disappointed that Gundam DX is the only suit from all of Gundam X in the game.

  • KyoyaHibari

So wait, are Kou & Setsuna like North American exclusives/new additions or new DLC Pilots & MSs for Japan too?

    • ThomasTruong

It’s just that BN released some screenshots for the Western Press (which really doesn’t matter since only two of the images have translated text), Kou and Setsuna are already in the Japanese version so the headline can be deceiving.

    • Kibbitz

      Kou and Setsuna are defaults.

  • ninjaonizuka

Cant wait for this :D i just wish we got more gundam games :<

  • gimpylee

    Japanese Voices or no buy.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/EnvyMizuhashi Garyuu

Original Gundam soundtracks, or no buy.

      • http://twitter.com/Robborboy Paul Chinn

@Garyuu:disqus Enjoy your no game then, because it’s not gonna happen.

        • https://twitter.com/RaiohV ShinkaRaioh

Did they already said that there is no Japanese voice track? I think it was in the first game, so maybe they do it for this one too.

          • http://twitter.com/Robborboy Paul Chinn

Talking about the licensed Gundam music.

          • https://twitter.com/RaiohV ShinkaRaioh

Ah, sorry..should read more carefully. >_<

  • LynxAmali

Does this mean X might be get licensed? Please say yes! That series was my favorite Gundam saga of all time though the ending was rather rushed due to the cancellation of the series to the infamous “Time Slot of Death.”
Didn’t the same thing happen to Turn A after DWG2?

On a completely related note: I’ll probably be maintaining my mains of Shinn, Judau and Kamille in addition to Garrod, Setsuna and Banana (also known as Banagher Links)

    • https://twitter.com/RaiohV ShinkaRaioh

True could be possible, though Turn A is only licensed and still in the works of publishing(I believe~), so it might take a while if X ends up being licensed too.

Is there a list of every pilot in DWG3? And if we are at it a list of the mechs too.

      • Kibbitz

There’s a list somewhere definitely. I certainly am not going to reproduce it, but it can be summarized as this.

        Take the DW2 roster.

        Add new characters and units.

        0083 – Kou in GP01Fb, Gato in GP02A
Unicorn – Banagher Links in Unicorn, Full Frontal in Sinanju
Wing – Duo in Deathscythe, Trowa in Heavy Arms, Treize in Tallgeese II (edit: how could I have forgotten you!!! I suck)
        X – Garrod in DX
00 S2 – Setsuna in 00 Raiser, Reborns Almark in Reborns Gundam
Knight Gundam in, well, Knight Gundam

I hear there’s some DLC, like Marida in the Ksyhatria and more of the 00 cast, but I honestly didn’t bother with it. There’s some new grunt mechs, notably the V Gundam enemy grunts but I doubt anyone cares about those.

Edit: Why does the posting system keep eating my newlines?

        • LynxAmali

Correction on Reborns; The pilots name is Ribbons. The mech’s name is Reborns. The rest of the 00 Meisters, along with Mister Bushido, and Marida Cruz were all the DLC. Hopefully, they’ll release it here too. God damn it, I want my Flag fix.

          • Kibbitz

Good catch. As for the DLC, well, it would be nice to have it available for
those who are interested. I know that I certainly wasn’t, especially once I
started working on 100% achievements and max char levels/skills. I guess it
probably doesn’t help either that I’m not a Gundam fan.

  • eilegz

japanese voice please, the dub at dwg 2 was horrible… i wish for japanese original BGM but thats stretching it…

    • Guest

Music License and royalty fees paid twice or thrice (once in Japan and again for here and EU) as opposed to in house Koei music team. meh.

What I’d like is 3D cel shaded pilot models in cut scenes

  • Exand

Was disappointed with DWG3, it felt like they put too much time in the graphics engine revamp and forgot about game play. No real story mode, just a bunch of disjointed stages. And the maps, ugh. All areas in maps the same small size. Hopefully with DWG4 they can get back to working on game play better.

    • Kibbitz

If you meant that their Story Mode sucks because the maps they used for that mode were not themed and unique, sure, I’ll go with that. Map size though, I don’t know. You want them bigger so you can waste more time flying across empty space like in GM2?

Will also disagree on forgetting about gameplay since they made enough changes to the overall system to the point where I enjoyed playing GM3 much, much more than GM2.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/EnvyMizuhashi Garyuu

DW7 is probably the farthest Koei can go with adding more gameplay and presentation. How will you expect a DWG4 to be any better? Take a good look at this vid.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r83x_kLfC2I

Even if you’ve already seen it, if you hadn’t noticed, with Musha Gundam Mk1, Musha Gundam Mk2, and Knight Gundam, Koei had already created a Gundam version of the Three Kingdoms. I’m ticked because this could’ve been the premise of the entire game, yet Koei probably didn’t realize this. Combine this with their astounding effort to create a story in DW7, and we have a game that’ll make Gundam fans even more proud.

So yeah, I better see Koei caring about game design more in a DWG4.

  • http://twitter.com/Robborboy Paul Chinn

Can’t wait for the english version to come out!

Which brings me to a question. Will gamestop buy my Japanese copy of DWG3?

    • Kibbitz

How much of your GM3 did you play anyway?

      • http://twitter.com/Robborboy Paul Chinn

How much as in content-wise, or how many hours did I dump into it? If it’s the latter, about 50 hours iirc.

        • Kibbitz

Just curious. Friend of mine asked me whether I’d get the US version once
it’s out and I stared at her and went “And go through all this again?” =P 50
hours though… you should have seen a decent chunk of the game by now,
unless you were either mucking around or farming.

          • http://twitter.com/Robborboy Paul Chinn

            @Kibbitz:disqus

This may sound a bit prentious, or insulting, but I assure you I don’t mean it in that way at all.

I only play games if/when I enjoy them. And will stop playing them the second the cease to amuse me. I don’t play for some false sense of accomplishment that comes with collecting achievements, unlocking all characters, finding all hidden items etc. I know some people do this, and that is good for them but I am not one.

That said, so far I have enjoyed every second of DWG3. There has not been a single point that I have felt like the game was devolving to tedium ad infinitum. So I can say completely, and whole heartedly, that when the English version drops I will buy it and enjoy every second(again). And hell, I’ll actually be able to read everything now instead of the one character out of every so many hundreds that I recognize.

edit: I blame any gramatical error on work kicking my ass and not being able to get any sleep.

          • Kibbitz

No worries, especially since you stated this so explicitly =P

I go for 100% accomplishments if it seems doable without too much pain and fun drain, for which GM3 mostly was (painless.) I have no problems in recommending GM3 to interested parties, but I will say that 100%ers might encounter varying amounts of mehness from some of the challenge missions as well as those with unlocks that require you to use this or that unit X times in game.

Otherwise, you obviously know what you’re going into, I definitely have no issues there!

I’ve tried selling my Australian copy of Bayonetta and it was a no-go, so.. XD

  • Pesmerga00

Oh, Musou game. I want to stay away. But……….. you know I’ll be back.

Actually looking forward to the mash up story. I can only go through Amuro’s story so many times.

    Plus:
    Puru, Domon, and Zechs
    . Nuff said. :)
