Armored Core V Boosts Into Japan In October, Closed Beta Coming Soon

By Spencer . May 10, 2011 . 9:18pm

acv10From Software set October as the release window for Armored Core V in Japan, but before that there will be a closed beta. Armored Core V has players battle over online territory where the war continues as long as your console is connected online.

Famitsu’s report also outlined a variety of boost options. By using a Glide Boost you can dash in all directions. With the right leg parts, a Boost Charge lets you dash-kick another mech. Hi-boost is a speedier short distance dash. Players can also jump and boost forward, which means there is triangular movement in Armored Core V. Armored Core V also has stances such as a weapon shift and purge stance mentioned in the magazine.

Namco Bandai will handle Armored Core V in North America and have the game slated for early 2012.

    Did someone say kickkka +o+

  • PrinceHeir

one of the few mecha games coming outside of japan.

will take what i can get :D

    • It will be localized? Glee!

I hope the controls are refined. The main reason AC series turned me away is their really awkward control scheme, until they changed it in Nexus. At least AC4 has decent controls. Now that From intends to include stealth gameplay, smooth controls are more important than before.

i just want customizable controls so we can decide what’s comfortable :P

I do hope the dual-stick controls are more comfortable on the PS3 controller than the 360. I’ve never been a fan of that setup, but they probably won’t keep the classic setup around any longer.

  • I’m hyped enough to create a team before the game is even released. Who’s with me?! xD

  • I think the upcoming indie game Hawken has ruined mech games for me, even if it’s an FPS mech game…

I’m going to offer up my talents as an American gamer for the beta testing. That’s right, I’m willing to make the ultimate sacrifice so that none of you have to. Please, no applause…I’m only a simple man XD

  • Still haven’t beaten the last game. Guess that I should probably power through that before this one comes out.
