After teases from IO Interactive and a trademark filing, Square Enix officially announced Hitman Absolution. Agent 47 returns, but this time for a personal journey that throws him into the center of a conspiracy. In Hitman Absolution, Agent 47 will be hunted by the police after he is betrayed by those close to him.

Game director Tore Blystad says Hitman Absolution will be "both a familiar and yet significantly different experience from other Hitman games." Square Enix promises new features, but are saving those details for E3.

Hitman Absolution will be shown behind closed doors at the show. IO Interactive plan to release Hitman Absolution next year on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

  • Being too different has me a bit concerned because Blood Money is my favorite game ever and I certainly wouldn’t mind more of the same of that but I’ve got faith in IO, hope they deliver something magical

Hope the new features are good,Blood money is really awesome and I keep replaying it now and then, the only bad thing I can remember for that game is that most guys in the game (guards, civilians, targets etc) had the same face with a different skin, hope that gets solved this time around.
