Atelier Totori And Steins;Gate Guests Are In Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2

By Spencer . May 16, 2011 . 12:56am

Japanese retailer Messe Sanoh got the jump on Compile Heart and revealed more guest characters before the publisher could. In this batch of tiny screenshots we can see Totori from Atelier Totori and Kurisu from Steins;Gate.

Both guests appear to pop up when a special attack is triggered. Totori and her sister, for example, show up when the skill Totori’s apprentice form jutsu is triggered, likely by Gust-chan. Kurisu’s cameo is when 5pb rocks out for another special attack.

Nepgear can use both Mega Man creator and ex-Capcom executive Keiji Inafune attacks, Donnahanda Nova and Creator Sword Inafune.

the last two screens…what the hell?

    •  Last 2 screens… never gonna happen in my game <3

Although I'm excited to see the first 2 screens, I really enjoy when other game character's anime appears in games as 'guests'

      • Klarktastic

Still haven’t played the first one, I have it since release, when I do play it I’ll do some silly stuff with the custom attacks

        •  Same… I played it but just waiting for the last dlc characters to REALLY play. You’ll enjoy it =]

          • Kai2591

             lol same here~
I hope the remaining DLCs will get released soon for the localized version…they will right?

          • Yup, 5pb and Red (?) are supposed to be this month dlc according to the forum but we need the psn for that Q.Q

I’m not too positive about red though… no one on youtube has a vid for her but they do for 5pb

      •  I am so going to use him when can you ever use a creator that can take out enemies in the game.

  • Comedy Gold concerning Nepgear and Inafune!

  • Yukito

    Lmao, Inafune… silly billy.

  • Ladius

It would be great if NISA localized the Steins Gate anime since they have already done Toradora, Persona Trinity Soul and others. I would really like to see the visual novel in the west, but I know that’s really unlikely :

    • landlock

Well is the visual novel on the PC aswell or just the XB360? because Demonbane is nearly done so Nitro+ should be announcing a new translation project sooner rather then later.

      • Ladius

Demonbane is out, but their localization partner (JAST USA) has a huge backlog of possible localizations to consider before moving on to a title as recent as Steins Gate. I thik our best bet is a fantranslation, honestly.

        • Guest

PC fan translation is unlikely due to some rumors that it is very difficult due to the game’s figuration. Perhaps the upcoming PSP version but who knows.

  • RagnaXBL

that old man blade looks hype

  • z_merquise

‘after seeing the first 2 screenshots’: Whoa, cute girls galore.

‘after seeing the last 2 screenshots’: WTF!?!?!

  • Kai2591

I shall try to resist using those last two moves mentioned above…That is, if NISA localizes it in the future~

  • DanteJones

I remember seeing the “IMMA FIRIN MAH LAZERZ” pic of Inafune before, but using him as a sword?? This game is gonna rock so hard. XD

  • heartless141

no word on any improvement on the custom skills feature so far. guess it’s all false hope :(

  • the last two screenshot is just god damn DUMB.

    • Perhaps to the West, but both of those come from Japanese memes. So, the joke is probably lost on us, but there were pictures of Inafune with crossing his arms as a joke throughout Japanese forums and so on.

      • Guest

I don’t see what’s so ‘lost in translation’ in it. Developers are like the ‘gods of video games’. Putting him in breaks the 4th wall and then having him be a an almighty sword or emitting a ‘god beam’ from him mouth just exemplifies the  ‘joke’. Especially in light of his rather serious comments on the gaming industry in the past few months from leaving Capcom and all. Now whether someone actually finds that silly or funny is all subjective…

      • You’re probably right about that.

        Slightly off topic

The only Japanese meme I know about Inafune is the one where he was pressing question agaisnt a producer from capcom about various of things. I’m actually interested to hear about other Inafune memes. Haha

  • kroufonz

hmm does 5pb have some interest to port it to ps3? including their PC/x360 game chara in PS3 exclusive game sounds weird to me (or maybe it just part psp campaign since 5pb have zero game on ps3 for now)

    and lol inafune summon ><

  • Pichi

Hilarious last two screens! If NISA brings this over, I hope they keep it intact. Just so out of place that I have to try it.

  • karasuKumo

El Psy Congroo … last two screens are too amazing to explain.

  • AzureNova

This is going to be freaking AMAZING!

  •  OMG MY STOMACH, these crazy japanese people <3
They always surprise me with their innovations,
but now they are even more sympathic than before.

  • HarryHodd

Kurisu looks cool with that guitar.

Is inafune some ultra powerful super attack? Would make sense if he was.

    • Guest

That’s a DLC character named 5pb; not Kurisu. 5pb was in the last game too. Kurisu is just the portrait that pops up when the attack is summoned. (though I’d rather they made a full fledged 3D character model actually attacking the enemy when summoned instead of a 2D portrait)

  • Darkrise

Donnahanda Nova… Never has there been such a powerful and awesome attack with so much win.

    O o
