Sunday, Monday, And Wednesday’s Outer Space Invaders In Devil Survivor 2

By Spencer . May 17, 2011 . 12:31pm

The thirteen Devil Messengers in Devil Survivor 2 have to battle an alien invader everyday for a week. Aloith, Thursday’s attacker, was previously revealed by Atlus. Now, Famitsu has the scoop on three more faceless bosses you’ll fight in the Nintendo DS game.

Dubhe strikes on Sunday, which means he’s the first Septentrion you have to fight. The pink circular top swells and eventually explodes damaging your party members.

Merak makes an appearance on Monday. It can fire red wheel-like entities that self-detonate. The core unit can transform and the picture below with its red wing-like appendages spread out appears to be this version of Merak.

Megrez, Wednesday’s invader, looks like a planet or a perhaps a virulent microbe. See those spikes? They’re actually spores Megrez fires all around Tokyo that summon demons. Megrez emerges from the Pacific Ocean.

The invaders sound linked to the Ursa Majoris and the stars within the system. For more details about the characters in Devil Survivor 2 check this post and visit Famitsu to see more screenshots.

  • Woho, the full body art of Makoto looks even more delicious!!! <3 I definitely have my favorite character for this game!

  • Selaphiel

The spike-ball is kind-of weak, but the other two are very clearly Kitoh’s work.

All the females look delicious in full body shots.  The full body shots of characters is better this time around, Something was off with the way they drew feet last time.

  •  Sounds more like Evangelion, which amuses me considering that Eva seems at least partially inspired by SMT.

  • DDanny

Pity Kaneko’s not doing the enemy design anymore… and I guess the invaders are supposed to look abstract or something?

  • Am I wrong to even say that the monsters are rather cute.

“Megrez emerges from the Pacific Ocean.”

Hmhmhm. Sounds like they might not be “alien” invaders after all. Or at the very least not recent alien invaders. Since it is MegaTen, I’m going to expect some sort of twist. Hopefully they don’t just do the same thing as Eva because I do expect more of Atlus than idea recycling. ;) Although I don’t deny the first thing I thought when I hear DS2’s scenario and the designs of the “aliens” was Eva.
I quite like the alien designs myself. I think their simplicity and abstract design really makes them stand out. :)
