A Small Taste Of Guardian Heroes On Xbox 360

By Spencer . May 18, 2011 . 12:07pm

Sega released a tiny trailer of Guardian Heroes; the Xbox 360 version of Treasure’s Sega Saturn game. Treasure is developing this version too, which ups the game’s versus mode from six challengers to twelve.

While originally slated for a fall release, Sega of Europe now matches Japan’s schedule and has Guardian Heroes listed for summer. Xbox Live Arcade games tend to have worldwide launches, so we’re counting on a summer release for North America as well. When Guardian Heroes arrives as a digital download the game will cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

  • 800 points guarantees this is a day 1 purchase for me.

Still a general disservice that this title is only being offered on one platform.

    •  Not everyone trusts the faulty online system called PSN as you do…

      •  Not everyone trusts the fault console system called 360 as you do…

Yeah man, I couldn’t BELIEVE it when Xbox Live got hacked and all of our personal information got compromised. OH WAIT THAT WAS PSN, LOL FANBOYS.

          • Man, I’m glad I get to download this now.

Especially since I went out and bought a 3rd PS3 since the first two got the RRoD.

OH RIGHT. That happened to my 360s :V

Console wars are a stupid marketing ploy to get people to turn brand loyalty into a religion.
Both of you are so stupid that it can’t be captured with image macros.

    • Masengan

Maybe it will be like Castle Crashers that got sent to the PSN way later.

  • Kunio_kun

Man, I hope this eventually comes to the PS3 as well…
The 360 is really changing my attitude towards Microsoft in the console business. After the original XBox revolved entirely around games designed by and appealing to the West, I thought I would never own a Microsoft system. Now, who knows? I’ve been loyal to Sony only because of their dominance in Japan; but if more and more RPGs and Eastern-themed games keep dropping as XBox exclusives then I’ll drop my PS loyalty just like I had to 86 my allegiance to Nintendo home consoles post-SNES…

Gaming has become more Western centric since the 360 the PS3 and online. JP devs were caught unprepared for HD and set in too many ruts.

And really, there’s no point in switching. Not for $10 ports.

    • Everyone is truly doing themselves a disservice by not owning the three consoles available. They all over really amazing things. As an example. If you have not Played Lost Odyssey on the 360, you have not played through the true sequel to Final Fantasy. And not played through one of the, arguably best JRPGs this generation. Conversely, not owning a Wii one has missed out on some of the best platformers to day. And moreover still, not owning a PS3 you have missed the great action adventure game that is Uncharted.

I’ve been sold since it was announced

They had better keep the original music. Seeing as how I didn’t hear anything familiar in this trailer, it has suddenly got me scared.

  • wow. Guardian Heroes had a phenomenal soundtrack, and Sega decides to use some random shitty music for the trailer.

    GG, Sega. GG.

  • Wake

I bought a Saturn just for this game when I was a kid. I remember thinking “A fantasy brawler with multiple paths?” that just blew my mind as a kid.

  • Yes! Always wanted to play this since seeing the screenshots in Game Fan and Gamer’s Republic!
