Goldeneye 007 Reloaded With New Players In June

By Spencer . May 20, 2011 . 3:01pm

51hFLIxiR7LIt’s like 1997… on the Wii. Nintendo of Japan, not Activision, is about to publish Goldeneye 007. Aside from snazzy new cover art and a Japanese localization, Goldeneye 007 is the same game from 2010.

It even uses the same online servers, so in just a few weeks Goldeneye 007 will have an influx of rookie special agents with zero experience points.

Goldeneye 007 is slated for release on June 30. If you’re wondering why the game is in a black box read this post.

If the US version had that cover, I might have picked it up! Very classy.

    • Strange that even Non-Japanese games get better covers in their japanese releases.

Picking a game from the cover? I haven’t used that technique in a while. It usually brought very bad results. Damn that ROTR.

Well, it’s not cover alone… But sometimes a cover can add to or detract from your interest in a game. I’ve heard good things about Goldeneye, but I recently saw it for cheap, and the cover was so uninspiring, I decided to skip over it. Sometimes you just want something nice on your game shelf.

Oh god, I sound like Tsuna, don’t I?

      • Sometimes it works out, I’d buy Catherine for the Cover if I didn’t already know about it. I fell in love with the Tales series after buying Vesperia for the cover.(There’s a dog smoking a pipe!? i have to no more!) Secret of Mana is the first game I ever picked up for the cover. Only other Super Nintendo cover I can remember is phalanx, and I think everyone rented that at least once for its cover.

I tend to prefer a nice simple design for a cover, but a pretty cover or a curious cover get my attention much faster.
