Professor Layton And The Last Specter Spotted, Likely E3 Announcement

By Spencer . May 26, 2011 . 10:55am

laytonflOh, so we are going to get Professor Layton and the Specter’s Flute (aka Layton Kyoju to Majin no Fue in Japanese) in North America. Level-5 released this Professor Layton game on the Nintendo DS back in 2009 and it explains how Luke became acquainted with the gentlemanly puzzle solver.

While unannounced, Level-5 filed a trademark for Professor Layton and the Last Specter in the USA. Right before E3 last year, Siliconera uncovered a trademark for Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, which Nintendo announced a few weeks later after their press conference.

We’re betting the same thing will happen on June 7th.

One step closer to the 3DS one, one step more. They should do a catch up pack to get new people, like me, to get caught up in the series.

That’s one Christmas present less to worry about.

I still need to play the other games… =(

    Great news!

Thank goodness, I was getting a bit worried about it.

There’s still a bunch of other DS games that I’m hoping will make an appearance at E³ though.

I really hope that the localization team chooses to bring over London Life. It seems like one of those features that would get cut for the US release.

Oooooh god, one of those games I just cannot deny because of its charm is the Professor Layton series, just release it here and take my money Nintendo.

  • Phoenix_Apollo

HELL YES. And London Life, please! And get on that other Fire Emblem for the DS while you’re at it, Nintendo!

Too slow – Hershel Layton’s Twitter announced this a couple of days ago

Excellent news. About time they released the fourth game. Hopefully it gets released within the year.

Ok! Now I rest easy on this one. Everyone is so focused and 3DS, some gems are being left forgotten on the DS. Now lets just have someone localized Ace Attorney Investigations 2 and Fire Emblem DS 2.

Of course titles lke Luminous Arc 3 and Endless Frontier 2 should not be forgotten but chances are too slim for those two. Atlus, I am dissapoint.

    • PrinceHeir

      Endless Frontier 2 please!!!!!

  • puchinri

    They couldn’t keep the flute part in the title? ouo;
But I am excited. I’m hoping we do see it annoucned at E3.
…Along with plenty of other fantastic things.

Like the others, I’d love to see what London Life was all about. Brownie Brown, while they have their hits and misses, probably did an awesome job under Level 5′s guidence.

I mean, it’ll still be a good game, but if they keep the RPG mode, it’ll be a GREAT game. C:

Let me rephrase that as I realize It’ll probably not be allowed.

    Screw Level-5.

I like Layton and all, but as said before with them not localizing everything with their US office, I’d actually like to see Inazuma Eleven (especially GO which I will not be able to import due to Nintendo’s awful Region Locking decision) and both Ni No Kunis (as if Nintendo picks up DS Sony can’t do PS3 and likewise) in the US. And then there’s Danball Senki.

Really Level-5, screw you. I actually want to see more of your games. But it seems all we’ll be getting is Layton, Layton, Layton.

I want Inazuma Eleven as well and The Little Battlers.
