Earth Seeker’s World Comes To Life When A Voice Actress Plays It

By Spencer . May 30, 2011 . 1:01pm

Kadokawa Games delayed Earth Seeker many times, but it’s ready to come out now. In fact, they have a video of Craft & Meister’s first game, which is almost all live gameplay. Voice actress Hisako Kanemoto sat down to play the Wii role playing game starting with the "Mysterious Treasure" quest.

Those weather effects add a nice touch to the ruined planet "Earth." Why the quotes? Earth Seeker doesn’t take place on our Earth, the game begins after humans fled the planet in spaceships. One of them crashed and terraformed a planet to become Earth-like, but the damaged craft created monsters like an insect mixed with a railgun. On the planet, you travel with Guardians, natives who will help you in battle if you give them some booze.

Enemies roam the field freely and combat is almost entirely in real-time. Players can pause the action using what Craft & Meister calls the "Time Stop Battle" system to freeze the action and input commands.

Earth Seeker will be available for Wii on June 23 in Japan. The game has not been announced for North America to date. However, Kadokawa Games appears to have plans for Western expansion since they filed a trademark for Rodea the Sky Soldier even before the game was announced in Japan.

Lol, she’s so cute. And I love how excited she was (and like her, I’d be telling the character to run).

I’m more excited for the game now. I wonder if she voices just one of the playable characters or two of them (supposing Mati is a guy).

I also wonder if seiyuu/voice actors are allowed to play the game before it’s released…? Like, if I became a VA, would they let me play a JP version of the game to get a feel for it? Or would you have to wait until it’s released? And do seiyuu get to play the game before the release if they want to? Or just for special interviews and such like this?

Well, either way, I really hope Earth Seeker gets localized with the other Kadokawa games! They’re really on top of things now~.

    • Ya she was cute! I would buy the game just to watch her play it.

        Same here~!

  • Well I”m interested in this game.  I wish Kadokawa luck in the west I know I”ll be supporting them.

I really hope they bring this to North America.  Looks great.

    soo cute ^^

  • Cheap publicity stunt: get a pretty lady who has probably never played a video game in her life, hand her a controller and watch her embarrass herself. That’ll make horny teenagers buy the game. I have now lost all interest in the game.

    • She isn’t some pretty lady, she is a voice actress of the game! Not some random Model who has nothing to do with it. I think she is attached to a game that she worked on like most other people too…

  • Ika Musume~! ^____^~!
