Anarchy Regins Has Two Storylines To Follow, Of Course Jack Is The Lead In One

ana1 When Anarchy Reigns comes up Platinum Games either reveals a new character or discusses the multiplayer mode. Today, in a presentation with producer Atsushi Inaba, I saw the game’s story mode.

Anarchy Reigns actually has two intertwining tales to follow. In single player mode, you pick either the "Black Side" or "White Side". Each side has a different lead character. Jack from Madworld is, of course, one of the protagonists. Leo the Cyborg is the other. The story unfolds from one perspective, so you’ll need to play both sides to unravel the complete story. Switching sides is as easy as returning to the main menu.

Leo and Jack cross paths in Anarchy Reigns. Take "The Wily Crocodile" for example, the name of mission 3 on the white side, Jack confronts Leo in a classic battle of speed versus brawn. The two characters barely know each other and meet for the first time only a little bit before Anarchy Reigns.

    No one here is excited for this game? Game looked very interesting to me. I hope the story for this game is written by Yasumi Matsuno (of Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics) like in Madworld.

      I’m really excited for this! I loved Bayonetta and Vanquish. I rarely make day 1 purchases and this will most likely be day 1 for me in early 2012!

    • I am beyond excited! So far, PG has been delivering great flashy games. I love them

    • I thought the story in madworld was brilliant sadly none of my friends or family played the game enough to actually get there.

      if you can buy moves in this game{godhand bayonetta}

      this game will be golden.

    Really seems like MadWorld 2.0 despite what they say, even right down to the reused characters like Jack & Leo. I can’t say much outside of the fact this being an online focused game doesn’t do much for me in terms of interest.

    Black side… White side… How about a black & white mode? Madworld looks so much better than this. I bet it plays better, too. Doing those finishers on the wiimote is almost therapeutical. Soooo good. Damn, such a good game.

    Anyway, not really interested in this one so far. I hope it has a decent story mode and some nice gameplay and not even that may be enough to interest me in such a bland looking game.

  • Definitely some cool news. I remember when they introduced this game, they said that the game would have some form of campaign, but MadWorld characters like Jack were only side characters or “add-ins”. It’s good to know that they changed their minds about that. Can’t wait to see Jack being a badass again~

  • call me mad but im looking forward to this rather then asuras wrath and ninja gaiden 3.

    This gets me intriqued because im not really a fan of platinum games because they dont really make interesting stories or character that i would consider compelling enough to waste money on.

     I’m not a fan of bayonnetta and vanquish for that reason but this game seems to have multiplayer function that would be worth the price. So im checking it out.
