Dear Atlus, What’s Inside Your Box Of Secrets?

By Spencer . June 12, 2011 . 10:48pm

boxsAtlus USA announced The King of Fighters XIII at E3, but what is their Japan side working on?

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2, Devil Survivor Overclocked, Nora and the Time Studio, Gloria Union…. OK it’s a pretty long list. We’ll throw Box of Secrets under the pile of games slated for 2011.

Atlus filed a trademark for Box of Secrets in Japan and registered a logo for it. While Atlus takes a long time to reveal what these trademarks are for (we’re looking at you Gungnir), tends to use all of them. Any guess to what’s inside Atlus’ Box of Secrets?

    • DanteJones

      This this this this this!

    • Thats not really a secret though is it? :P

  • Covnam

    SMT mash-up fighter?

    • imaguni

Will Lucifer be the final stage in Arcade mode or an unlockable bonus stage?

    • malek86

I thought the mash-up fighters craze died down back in 2010.

    • HAHAHA. Yes! That would be brilliant! With all those demons and Jack Frost and all the other goodness. It would be great.

  • SolidusSnake

    SMT 5

  • SetzerGabbiani

Jack Bros. 3DS…rather that’s what the article’s icon would have me think.

  • Whatever it is, it’ll be awesome!

    So much excite…

I’d love a crossover fighter, but that’d be too epic and awesome and no one’s bodies would be ready.

  • PrinceHeir

probably KOF XIII for japan? :P

or could it be a new Shin Megami or Catherine DLC?

  • Kris

That’s the cutest Jack Frost ever in the teaser image.

  • RablaAndrews

Well I believe the Persona team had plans to get back together and begin work on the ‘Next Persona’ when they had finished Catherine and P2[IS]P.

So either Persona 5 or Persona 3DS is being worked on, I would assume.

  • persona persona persona!
    that or smt4 :X
    please dear atlus jp!

  • Crimson_Cloud

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 5. It better be!

  • cmurph666

Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Box of Secrets~!

No, something about that just doesn’t sound right.

    • The reason it doesnt sound right is because the 2nd name isnt long enough clearly.
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Box of Secrets Super Secret Dark Army of Chaos.

      There fixed.

  • Trauma Team 2!

Nah, the first game pretty much tied up its ends, so no potential sequel. Unless they start a new story like Devil Survivor 2.

  • I gawd! I hate secrets! Atlus secrets however are a different story, because their secrets are always so awesome.

  • Saraneth

Isn’t there still a Persona game coming for the 3DS?

  • kroufonz

it’s about time for atlus HD JRPG right?

    • Crimson_Cloud

Right! Actually, it’s about time we get HD JRPGs from various companies. PS3’s glass is almost empty compared to the good old and awesome PS2 list….

      • Yeah it seems like at the end of it’s life all PS2 had was RPGs popping out. Maybe we can expect the same?

  • I was hoping they would announce Gungnir for the U.S. right before (or during even) E3 like they did with KitN PSP last year.

  • They do occassionally make new IP’s…

  • AzureNova

    Dear Atlus:

    Persona 5, Persona 5, Persona 5, Persona 5, Persona 5, Persona 5, Persona 5 Persona 5.

    Thank You =^_^=

    • AnimusVox

I’d really like that. The SMT series is my favorite RPG series.
If they make a 5, I’d like for it to have a more dark plot along the lines of Innocent Sin and Persona 3, hell throw in Nocturne’s plot too.

  • I’d like to believe it’s P5 but, wouldn’t Atlus JP be announcing that first if it WAS? Just saying..

I wonder what it could be.. the ‘box of secrets’ thing just throws me off haha.

  • darkfox1

Persona 4 Portable Or Persona 4 Portable THEN Persona 5 :D

  • TenRX

I’ll be happy with some Sting games from Atlus, let’s see what they bring us :)
