Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds 3D TV & PlayStation Move Patch Coming In July

Sony is going to update Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds, better known as Minna no Golf 5, with a patch on July 17. Famitsu reports this will add support for 3D TVs and PlayStation Move controls. Details for other regions have not been announced.

A PlayStation Move bundle with Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds and a PlayStation Eye camera is in the works too. Sony plans to release this package in Japan sometime in September.

Why Hot Shots Golf? The Minna no series is one of the more popular first party offerings in Japan. Games like Killzone and even God of War started as third party games in Japan published by Sega and Capcom, respectively.

  • No news of a Trophy Patch? Still, the very first game I bought for PS3, it has a special place in my heart. Without HSG:OoB, I would have never been into console gaming.

Love this game and if move support is good then I will be all over this. Need some new courses and trophy support though.

  • Baby Kratos will forever haunt my dreams.

Great game, and I’m thrilled to see it getting a Move patch so long after release (3+ years since US release).  Bought my Move controller for the light gun shooters, but I’ll definitely give it a spin with HSG.

A good reason to undust my Hot Shot Golf after years of ignoring it.

  • Nice fail on your reporting by the way.  I used this post as well as a couple of other gaming sites to get my hopes up BUT the patch never happened July 17th as reported.  You mention “Details for other regions have not been announced.” but you never bothered to say this story applies to the Japanese version only.
