A Sneak Peek At Devil Survivor 2’s Store Marketing Campaign

By Spencer . June 24, 2011 . 1:27pm

Japanese video game stores often have flashy displays with monitors running trailers to entice people passing by to check out a title. This is one of the ways Atlus plans on pushing Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2. Later this month, retailers in Japan will have displays just like this.

Atlus also shared a new B2 size (20 x 29") with all of the main characters, which is a more complete picture of key artwork Atlus released earlier.

First run purchasers also get a bonus Devil Survivor 2 special soundtrack. Atlus Japan has become increasingly generous when it comes to pre-order goodies after Atlus USA rolled out their spoils program. Perhaps, we’ll get a special soundtrack when the game arrives in North America?

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 comes out on July 28 in Japan. Atlus USA announced they will bring the Nintendo DS game stateside early next year.

  • The final DS game I’ll buy….in America. Lovely character designs, Yellow scarf dude and main character dude are quite compelling.

  • Lots of blue and purple. Someone could almost mistaken it for another Persona 3 game in Japan if they aren’t careful :P

  • Steal….

  • Code

    Very nice owo they look really sharp, I’m glad to see Atlus is making a more visual marketing pretense with there titles. I know this is probably only in Japan, but still it breaks my heart to see Atlus titles all tucked away in game stores omo;

  • AnimeRemix

I swear I just went insane after looking at that! O_O I hope we do end up getting a special pre-order goody here in America! >< So wouldn't mind getting a soundtrack for Devil Survivor 2…

In other news… I'm still trying to beat the first Devil Survivor, XD.

    • AnimusVox

I think we will.l ATLUS is usually good about that kind of thing, especially with their SMT games.

  • Darkrise

If only NA could also have such flashy displays for games. =/

    • AnimusVox

We do, they’re just called Call of Duty, Halo, Gears of War, and Grand Theft Auto.

      • …You just made me sad.

        • AnimusVox

Sorry, I have a habit of unintentionally doing that.
          ; ;

    • As CrazyKnives said they usually arent for Japanese games :/. Sometimes though.

      • DanteJones

Yeah, the latest one I can think of is Record of Agarest War Zero. The Gamestop near my house had one up for a month or so before its release. But beyond that not a whole lot that I can think of.

    • Quite sure EA games get elaborate displays like these here. Does Atlus even do print advertising in the US?

      • They do but they dont do the whole big standee cardboard cut out things for the games.

  • I’m going to have to find a way to get my hands on that B2 size poster.  Gods help me any souls be lost in my quest for one.

  • AnimusVox

I’m beginning to think there’s a bit of girl-girl romance in this game after looking at that card.
Not that I’m complaining or anything…

  • i want that soundtrack…………………..

  • why the comps in the first game is replace with a laptop?

  • I want that poster!!!

  • Man, they better not make a DS2 Overclocked or I’ll be pissed…

  • A CD! Isn’t that nice of Atlus JP, answering the question of what Atlus over here should bundle the game with….

  • AzureNova

I want all of the above >_< (Happily hands wallet to ATLUS). I cant wait till it gets localized and released. As soon as I can, I will be pre-ordering.

  • Preordering now on Amazon. $30 is a steal, and I bet we will get some spoils too
