NanaOn-Sha’s Kinect Horror Game Haunt Surfaces

While Microsoft brought a number of Kinect enabled games to E3, Haunt was nowhere to be found. Announced at Tokyo Game Show last year, Haunt is a horror game from PaRappa The Rapper developer NanaOn-Sha. Here’s a video of Masaya Matsuura introducing Haunt from TGS 2010.

Haunt popped up on Australia’s Classification Board along with Kinect Sparkler from Kinect Adventures developer Good Science. The trailer kind of hinted this with a goofy-looking rather than bloodthirsty ghoul, but it doesn’t seem like Haunt will be Xbox 360’s Fatal Frame. The game was rated PG. Haunt will be released on Xbox Live Arcade. Since it’s rated perhaps it’s not too far away?

Hmm… A PG horror game… Interesting. The teaser kinda makes it out to be like one of those haunted mansion rides that you see at amusement parks. Though hopefully it’s more of the suspenseful horror (Amnesia) rather than the violent horror titles (Dead Space, RE, FEAR, etc.). Oh, and that ghost at the end reminded me of those lame ghosts from Casper… *shudder*

  • PG Horror? The last time I thought PG horror would be a piece of cake, I watched Nightmare Before Christmas. Brilliant movie, but also quite the nightmare fuel. I think it’s a great atmosphere to work with, and because it’s PG – it likely won’t be working with any hardcore gore.
