Ayumi Hamasaki Album Includes Tales Of Xilla Costume Code For Milla

By Spencer . July 4, 2011 . 10:41pm

imageNamco Bandai got pop idol Ayumi Hamasaki to sing the theme song for Tales of Xillia. "Progress" also happens to be a track on her upcoming mini-album Five. That’s not the only Tales of Xillia crossover.

Limited edition copies of Five include a product code, which fans can redeem for a Tales of Xillia x Ayumi Hamasaki singer costume. Since this costume has not been announced outside of an Avex Trax (that’s the record label) bulletin, it’s unclear if Tales fans will be able to access the costume other ways.

Five costs 1,890 yen ($23) and will be released on August 31. Tales of Xillia will be available on September 8.

Wow She really knows wheres her market xD
    Im impressed

So I’ll have to wait until August 31st to hear progress’ full version(unless a PV is released)?

    …Being a fan is suffering.

      it’ll leak this month probably.

  • landlock

Damn! that song will be removed when they release it in the west. To expensive to license.

    • puchinri

That’s too bad considering they kept the music in Thousand Arms forever ago (in which Ayu also did the music). I was hopeful for a second, but times have changed, and you may be right.

      • landlock

Yeah that was along time ago “Startin” was removed from the western release of Onimusha 4 I guess it depends on the company. NB have not got a very good track record at coming the songs.

        • puchinri

Ahh. Yeah, I was just thinking, TA was published/localized by Atlus too, so that may play a part in it. I can’t see NB trying to keep the song (although since that Tales interview and asking if JP or EN dub is preferred, maybe we’ll get some changes on that).

    Must get!
Already $200 spent on this game, not including future DLC.

I don’t think the Vesperia blu-ray movie DLC was ever made available on PSN so this might not either.

  • XypherCode

gotta buy the album then :P

  • puchinri

Lol, how many games has Ayu have music affiliated with now?

  • AzureNova

Sigh, I want this game even more now. Can never have too much Ayu, not to mention the outfit for Milla as well lol.

  • Darkrise

Glad to know that we don’t have to wait for like 2 weeks before we get an op single like most games and anime. Not sure if I’ll even get that DLC cd but I’ll definately buy her album, and the game itself of course. =)

  • KotaroInugami

Assuming we get Xillia in the west, I honestly wonder how many of these “special” costumes we will be allowed to get. The last ones I saw being anime costumes and now this.

  • entrydenied

Hey Spencer, just to clarify, the code only comes with the Limited CD version.
There are two more versions, the CD+DVD and the unlimited CD versions, and they don’t come with the costume code.

The limited cd version is probably on print only and will have some sort of Xillia art work. Most likely the CD jacket.

  • Mister_Nep

So where will I be able to pre-order this?

    • entrydenied

You can get this at Yesasia, Playasia, CDjapan, HMV Japan and Amazon Japan. At least these are the places I usually import CDs from.
CDJapan is good in the way it deals with first press bonus. They will always indicate whether a pre-order/first press bonus is still available on the product page itself but I think their shipping is slightly more expensive.

      • Mister_Nep

Yay thank you. This information will definitely come in handy for this Album and in the future.

        • entrydenied

          No problem:)
