Think of The King of Fighters-i as a touch screen taste of The King of Fighters XIII. This iPhone game has 14 playable characters including Kyo, Terry, Mai, Yuri, Kula, K’, Maxima, Daimon, Benimaru, Ash, and Billy Kane who will make his debut in this game. In October, SNK will release an update that adds another six characters.

The King of Fighters-i uses touch screen controls for its single and 3-on-3 team fights. You can also challenge another player to a Bluetooth battle.

The King of Fighters-i to Japan’s iTunes store now for 900 yen. Users need to have an iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, third generation iPod Touch, fourth generation iPod Touch or iPad with iOS 4.1 or higher to run theg game.

      • NGP or PSP2 sounds infinitely better than that horrible Vita name.

        • People said that about the Wii, and the Gamecube, and so on. Get over it. That’s the official name and you’ll forget all about your feelings about it in a year.

          • Because the Wii actually fits that’s why. :P

Like what Ben Frosh said, you’ll get used to the Vita name. Or you can just call it PSV, it sounds better.

  • The analog stick + thumb covers p1, the buttons + thumb covers p2……

  • Well, there’s ONE piece of good effort SNK is making. Keep going doods!

  • this is good news it should make snk a ton of money !

    {last blade 3 please :] }

    • I’d like it if Last Blade 1 and 2 was released here period for home systems!

But yeah, that’s a series they could visit again.

  • I understand the draw of crappy little games for those people who are not gamers, and just have their phone.  For anyone who goes to this site, this would seem underwhelming to me.  Ooh, crappy KOF with bad control that’s near impossible to play.

    • Oi, watch the language. That’s not polite.

Anyone who plays a video game is, whether you accept or not, a gamer. Any device with sufficient hardware can be made to run games, with enough programming; some devices are just made purely for games, while some are made for multiple purposes.

      He’s a flamer

    • wut, Ash is playable in it.

      The pic is trading cards.

Be nice to have Mature playable, but she got in the home edition of XII too and is obviously in XIII…

  • Good lineup for a smaller version.

Good to see SNK still kicking. Would be interesting to see how a Metal Slug game would look in their new sprite work.
