Namco Bandai is about to release an expanded port of Mobile Suit Gundam: New Gihren’s Ambition. The Sega Saturn game got a visual update with new attack scenes and characters from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.

Mobile Suit Gundam: New Gihren’s Ambition comes out on August 25 in Japan. First run copies include a product code that unlocks 10 characters and 16 mobile suits for the PSP game plus a MobageTown voucher redeemable for Gihren’s clothes.

  • Is it a port? I was under the impression it was a completely new game in the series. Either way, sorely tempted to pick it up.

    • LynxAmali

Brand new. Hence the New in the title.

      • That’s what I thought- hence my confusion with the article calling it a Saturn port.

    • Exkaiser

It’s a sequel to the Saturn edition of the game, as opposed to Threat of Axis V or Blood of Zeon.

A voucher redeemable for actual clothing?  That’d be cool(hey, I’m a Gundam fan,) but the picture at the end of the video is a sprite of it so maybe not.

Also.  I really wish we could atleast get one of these games in English.  Not going to happen, I know.  :(

    • Nah, we never said actual clothing. MobageTown is an online mobile service in Japan that’s what the clothes are for as mentioned in the post.

there has to be a way to get more and better gundam games over here. im through with dwg3. it was fun while it lasted but after numerous playthroughs, that game couldve been much better.

    • godmars

Short of winning the lottery, buying a Bandai shareholder’s seat and then funding a game personally just to get a Western release, I got nothing.

      • Christian Wright

that actually sounds like a good idea

    • eilegz

yeah like gundam extreme vs, or any gundam vs saga game….

      • Christian Wright

there’s a petition being organized on the dwg3 ps3 board on gamefaqs to get extreme vs ported over here on ps3. there’s alot of supporters.

    • It would’ve helped if Bandai hadn’t put so many crap Gundam games out over here before- I think Crossfire being the absolute worst-rated, worst-selling PS3 launch title effectively killed any non-DW Gundam titles for the foreseeable future.

I know I’m never gonna see this in English, but I just wish we’d get the Gundam Vs. titles again if nothing else. They’ve improved so much since Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam, I don’t know that they’d even be recognizeable to US players of the old ones now.

      • Christian Wright

ewwww crossfire. bad memories. it reminds me of journey to jaburo but like 10x worst. i have faith in extreme vs being ported on ps3 over here. the time is now. i think gundam unicorn rekindled that gundam passion over here

they need to improve on the battle animation; it’s way too choppy

    • It’s okay, there are a lot of games worse than that and they’re very popular in japan. The most important thing is the estrategy part not the animation.

      • Guest

        no excuse

        • It’s an excuse. Your complain is invalid.

          • Guest

No excuses. Unacceptable. My complaint IS valid.

    • Exkaiser

No one plays Gihren’s Greed for the animations. It’s not SRW.

  • The anime scenes will be great in this game. Amuro in prison lol

    Unicorn wa date janai!

I just love hearing Gihren’s Sieg Zeon Speech starting this trailer. As always Namco knows how to make great trailer but in the end hates the fact that this game will never come here. Well times to play it raw as ussual.

  • wait, is this the 4X type strategy game Gihren no Yabou for the PSX as well? i loved that game, even though it’s all runes to me back then. too bad it doesn’t seem to be coming to the 3DS… :/
