Growlanser IV for PSP is "over reloaded" with extra characters, story branches, and animated movies. Atlus shared two more clips of those.

Growlanser IV: Over Reloaded comes out on August 18 in Japan.

Just finished grwolanser 1 for psp T___T i cant wait for this one~!

It would be horrible to see such a great game unlocalized for the second time :(

I really hope Atlus USA is able to surprise us with a niche announcement like they used to do back in the days, looking at Fate Extra and Hakuoki’s announcements (not to mention Trails SC, Cladun X2, XSeed’s unnamed “PSP horror game” and others) it looks like there’s still a market for Japanese PSP games in the USA, and this one is leagues better than many others released in the last years.

    • Ryos

With no access to sales numbers, it’s hard to say how much of a market there is (lord only knows how many reports I read saying the system’s dead here), but the fact we’re missing what’s quickly looking to be one of the top PSP titles (of the many great PSP titles) that shows off the power of the system is kind of annoying.

      • Ladius

I’m thinking along those lines: if companies far smaller than Atlus USA can risk licensing text heavy games for PSP and releasing them at retail (Fate Extra and Hakuoki will even have limited editions, same for all the XSeed Falcom titles) is it really so unlikely to ask for a localization of Growlanser 4, a game that Atlus USA won’t even need to pay licensing costs for and that has less texts than the two games Aksys announced recently (not to mention the Trails games from XSeed)?

It’s even sadder considering that Growlanser already has a small fanbase in the west (according to Aksys’ Akselzyis G5 was profitable) and that G4 is a stand-alone game (compare it with Trails, a game that requires at least its direct sequel to be localized and that risked to be brought down by the Gagharv LoHs’ bad reputation)?

    Edit: double post, sorry :

Would really like to see that localized too as I’m a sucker for story branches and JPRGs usually lack those.

Maybe because they shove it all into their visual novels

I hope that they localize this and the first Growlanser….
