Jupiter’s First 3DS Game Is Downloadable Picross

By Spencer . July 27, 2011 . 2:20am

imageThe World Ends With You developer Jupiter has been tinkering with the Nintendo 3DS. In fact, they just released their first 3DS game.

Picross-e is now available on Japan’s eShop. This 500 point ($5) game has 150 puzzles to solve. Complete them to see carrot and cake pixel art leap out of the screen.

Picross-e has not been announced for North America at this time, but it doesn’t seem like the kind of game that would require a lot of localization work. Perhaps, we’ll see this game in our 3DSWare folder.

Uhm, like I thought. With the smartphones and apps available nowadays, selling a retail Picross like the DS one would have been a bad idea.

I for one don’t mind. Picross DS was sold for, like, $30. Even though there were many free puzzles on the internet, you could only buy portable for the DS, which jacked up the price.

  • Jupiter’s second 3DS game should be a sequel to The World Ends With You. :P

I’d probably snag this for $5 if it comes to the NA eShop.

  • XypherCode

just give us The World Ends With You on the 3DS :D

I thought the KH team was the primary developer for TWEWY with Jupiter only giving their input?

kinda the other way around. Jupiter developed the game just like they did Chain of Memories, although Nomura’s team had more than just “input”

From Wiki: The World Ends with You was developed by the same team that created the Kingdom Hearts series, with input from Jupiter,[24] the company that developed Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. The director, composer, artist etc. are all from Square as well.

  • You know, some people here like Picross.

I hope that their next work is going to be a sequel of The World Ends With You.

  • I’m very excited personally. Picross is the coolest puzzle game ever.

  • And it was just yesterday that I was thinking about picking up a new copy of Picross DS. >_>

Guess this means I won’t have to!

EDIT: Well, crap, I thought that was the avatar button. >_>

  • -.- Gah, buttons not liking me today. Accidental post…
