Starcraft Ghost Concept Art Reveals Stealth Specter And Protoss Shadow Husk

imageAlmost a decade ago, Blizzard announced Starcraft Ghost, a stealth action game set in the Starcraft universe where you played Nova. As a Ghost unit, players would see Starcraft’s marines, siege tanks, and zergling from an on the ground perspective. Nihilistic Software was hired to develop the game and it appears they planned on adding new units to Starcraft Ghost too.

One of the game’s artists shared concept art for a Shadow Husk, which looks similar to a Templar. There’s also a Ghost-like Stealth Spectre and a Brain Spectre, a Zerg unit that sort of looks like Krang.

You can see all of the artwork, including neat-o sketches for Dark Templars, Zerg buildings, and Nova here. (Flip to the end to view it!)

Yeah that’s what the Zerg and Protoss need: Freakin’ STEALTH units!

    • but they have that in Lurkers, don’t they? (are there Lurker units in Starcraft 2 though?)

plus Protoss have Dark Templars with innate Full Cloak (Hidden even while attacking).

  • After looking through this guy’s stuff, I gotta ask: how do guys this good find work!?! YOU NEVER SEE ENEMIES THIS COOL IN GAMES! I see killer concept art and artists all the time (I’ve got an account on, and compete in competitions from time to time), but what do you see in games? Terrorists mostly, zombies, and, like, gangsters. Lots and lots of stuff like that. It’s a frickin’ shame that artists get so handicapped by “games that are marketable”.

  • Square jump on this ship, and make it a reality.
