Just In Case You Didn’t Know What Demon Auctions Were

By Spencer . August 15, 2011 . 3:01pm

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overlclocked (and Devil Survivor before it) has its take on eBay. Players bid against the computer to purchase demons, which you can fuse to create even stronger demons. If you haven’t seen the system in action this video explains it.

Notice any new demons in the video? Catoblepas, Spriggan, Huoniao, and Rukh from Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey wandered over to Devil Survivor Overclocked.

AH I was just finalizing the details of my videogame, anime, manga, and artbook purchases through the remainder of this fy. This is the leading and highlight titles for me for the 3DS. I cant wait to see all of the other creature designs.

Although I think its odd that Atlus has a thing for the occult, some of the creatures do tend to look rather epic.

Remember that the company started the games with the now-forgotten Shin Megami Tensei series. Religion, occultism and psychology have been at the heart of Atlus  games from the beginning.

Actually, all began with Megami Tensei, the Shin was some years later. And about forgotten, well SMT: Strange Journey (DS,2009) is considered as title on the main line of the SMT series.

I believe I speak for all of us in the EU when I ask for an EU release. It’d be nice! I’m seeing so much here that’s worth paying for. I’m just sorry I can’t guarantee a market outside of me!

Ultra limited localization for you and me~

      • Alex

that make us three, but i least just a release in ue i’m not asking for a translation in other languages

The song that plays during the auction is one of the most catchiest songs I’ve heard from the SMT games. Not necessarily the -best-, but I’ll be damned if I couldn’t get the song out of my head after a few days. xD

    • Historiata

Blasphemy! What would the Persona 1 pharmacy guy say!?

      • DanteJones

D’oh, I should have put “SMT games that I’ve played” my bad. Though, what’s the name of the song? I’ll go take a listen to it. :D

        • SolidusSnake

I think he means this song, which is supposed to be some kind of psi-ops brainwashing song according to Nanjo.

There’s even an OC remix version with funny english lyrics if you’re interested.

–And @SolidusSnake, what do you mean, “he?” D8

          • DanteJones

@Historiata:disqus Hahahaha! Oh man, those lyrics brought a tear to my eye. That was great! xD

Despite a different system, this totally reminds me of Disgaea. Demons doing random stuff like this, just as random as Disgaea. This looks very interesting so far!

  • AzureNova

Fu…..sion……..ha!!! (Random Pokemon evolution music) XD

  • PrinceHeir

damn that’s some rocking music you got there :P
