That’s The Mysterious Book From Silent Hill: Book Of Memories

By Spencer . August 18, 2011 . 1:23am

Silent Hill: Book of Memories revolves around a mysterious book, which captures all of the players memories and cannot be changed. (So, it’s a permasave? Nevermind.) The game is being made by Contra 4 developer WayForward and the key feature is multiplayer. A cooperative mode lets at least four players explore the Otherworld and shoot zombie nurses as a group. These screenshots suggest players can pick up different weapons, which may be breakable indicated by the red axe.

Any ideas about the MR (memory?) numbers or other meters? Konami has been pretty quiet about their PlayStation Vita Silent Hill game.

    Oh my word.

    Is this a top-down shooter?

  • Room201

Yeah….I don’t really want to know anymore about what Konami is thinking about SH at this point. I would like to believe that Konami knows what they are doing but this is just a mess that doesn’t even scream SH to me.This and the HD “collection” are starting to be a disappointment. At least Downpour is looking okay/decent (for now).

This is some kinda joke, right?
This can’t be a preliminary April’s Fool, no?

  • So I guess the concept was approved? Looks nice.

  • Survival horror getting thrown out of a window, or so it seems.

It’s a spin off title. If you want traditional Silent Hill there’s Downpour.

People who have seen these screens exaggerate too much like the entire franchise is going in a different direction.

This reminds me of Guardian of Light. I think that was a great Tomb Raider spin off and I hope this game also delivers.

  • Spencer. Don’t you mean they have been Silent?

Vita is looking to have such a great line up. Pyramid head in 3d would be pretty cool too though.

You, sir, deserve a pair of sunglasses.

  • I hope this is more of a dungeon crawler horror game than a top down shooter.

Better yet, why not change the music style?  Can you imagine?

Regardless, being a huge SH fan, I’m still very likely to pick this up. ;)
