Five More Videos Of Strategy RPG Ragnarok Online

By Spencer . August 19, 2011 . 5:30pm

GungHo released another round of trailers for their tactical RPG take on Ragnarok Online. Ragnarok: The Imperial Princess of Light and Dark follows Torene, a wandering adventurer with a deadly slap attack. Fiona, the high priestess who casts heal and holy light(o!) in the videos below, is a girl Torene rescues very early in the game.

Ragnarok: The Imperial Princess of Light and Dark comes out on October 27 in Japan.

Still considering…  Voice acting is a little too consistent and not very varied. Needs more effects on screen too, otherwise it’ll be pretty generic.
I’d still take the online game over this.

Did that High Priest just win the majority of the battle with holy light!?

The action animations are good, but the attacks are so…

I totally agree. I understand that tactics games aren’t capable of being fast paced, but most tactics games are capable of producing the illusion of fast combat with fancy attack animations and combos. Almost all the other actions are beautiful, like you say. But the attacks look slow slow slow.

I also feel like the little bar that shows the damage kind of ruins any kind of flow in the gameplay.

But~ This is too early to say. These are just basic skills so far after all! Waiting on Grimtooth. >:D

Oh man. I don’t think the voice work is bad. But when they cut so many “HOH-LEE LIGHT-O!” together in a short amount of time like that, I begin notice how annoying it can be. But that’s just a bad clip, I guess.

I watched one video and part of the second.  Looks very meh.  Why can’t we get the actual Ragnarok Online.  :(.  PSP Adhoc party for actual online play ftw amirite?

I think they should have kept the 2D sprites of Ragnarok Online.
