Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor wasn’t the first Megaten strategy RPG spinoff. Back in 1994, Atlus released Majin Tensei, which switches between a grid battlefield and a first person view during combat.

The plot also involves demons taking over a city in Japan, but doesn’t teenagers or COMPs. Majin Tensei will be re-released as a Virtual Console download in September.

Seicross (the Famicom version) plus NeoGeo titles Crossed Swords, and The King of Fighters ’97 are also on deck for Japan’s Virtual Console.
