Famitsu’s PlayStation Vita Reveals Include Mysterious Dark Quest And Sumioni

By Spencer . September 6, 2011 . 10:00pm

Famitsu has a list of "new" PlayStation Vita games. New is in quotes because some of these were revealed earlier, but here’s their list of PlayStation Vita reveals.

Ragnarok Odyssey – from GungHo, read more about that here.
Sumioni – from Acquire, it’s a 2D ink action game.
Shinobido 2 – from Acquire and Spike, read our developer interview here.
Dream Club Zero Portable – from D3Publisher, port of the Xbox 360 game
Moe Moe Taisen Gendaiban ++ – from SystemSoft Alpha, slated for a spring 2012 release.
Michael Jackson: The Experience HD – from Ubisoft.
Dark Quest – from Ubisoft.
Lumines: Electronic Symphony – from Ubisoft, Q Entertainment is the developer.
Rayman Origins – from Ubisoft.

Moe Moe Taisen Gendaiban + (single plus) for PC is in the video above. Dark Quest is… interesting since it hasn’t been mentioned before. Has kind of a fantasy or perhaps even a RPG ring to it? Total speculation there because details have not been revealed.

Hopefully Genki Rockets is in this Lumines.

I read somewhere that Dark Quest is Dungeon Hunter Alliance’s name in Japan.

Always wanted to try Moe Moe Taisen Gendaiban +, I heard it was like Advance Wars which is more then enough for me to be interested T3T~!

    • Kibbitz

It’s like Advance Wars in the sense that it uses the usual troop mixes (air, land, sea units.) Your units have AP (I assume action points), and you can move and attack multiple times as far as your AP allows. Movement is free-ranging (ie, not hex/grid-based). Units have various types of weapons that are  designed for different targets (F4s have air-to-air missiles which are only useful anti-air, and guns as the only anti-ground option.), and the heroine units usually have some hissatsu waza special that you can use.

Not sure whether they have the factory and city rules that Daisenryaku/Advance Wars has, but I didn’t like it enough to play past the first battle.

Edit: Forgot to mention, the heroine units’ stats can be upgraded with some sort of resource points ala Super Robot Taisen.

That actually sounds pretty interesting to me. Too bad it probably wont ever be released in english.

        • Kibbitz

I suppose the best opportunity for this to be released in English is through parties like MangaGamer for the PC version, though I think the PSP and Vita versions do have extra stuff as the + and ++ indicates. Maybe if enough people were interested enough direct their queries there?

Man does Famitsu get around, getting information on an updated version of MJ:TE HD… I mean that shit’s in HD son, sign me the fudge up right this moment.

Ridge Racer and now Lumines, dammit Sony, who told you my weaknesses?  Now all you need is a remake of Dawn of Ys* and I’ll actually be getting this PSV at release.   Curses.

*yes I know, not canon, unlikely to happen etc.  Still personal favorite Falcom game soundtrack, so I don’t care. ~.~

The way Falcom has been remaking every single Ys for PSP has me thinking they might actually bundle it with another Ys game at some point down the line. Now if they could only make a sequel to Gurumin…

  • joesz

My thing went GO! GO! during the opening, to be honest.

  • SirRichard

Delicious Lumines. Also, despite its hilariously generic name, Dark Quest has piqued my interest regardless, if only because as a possible RPG it adds more variety to the Vita’s line-up. Thing’s looking better and better by the day.

Looking forward to Ragnarok Odyssey, Sumioni, Shinobido 2 and of course Rayman Origins.  I really hope Ragnarok Odyssey turns out to be good. I was a big fan of Ragnarok online.
