Lets Take A Look At The Fate/Extra Limited EditionFate/Extra is scheduled to come out on November 1 in three forms. You can get the game on PlayStation Network for $24.99 or pick up it up in stores for $29.99. Aksys also created a limited edition bundle, which includes some of the items from the package Marvelous released in Japan.

 

The Fate/Extra limited edition includes the 15 page Fate Visual Works art book and a soundtrack CD with 11 songs for $39.99. Sorry Type-Moon fans, the North American version does not include the Saber servant figure. For comparison’s sake, Marvelous’ package was a bit more expensive at 10,479 yen ($135).

    A 15 page artbook? Really? 15 pages?! I may have to stick with the standard version on this one.

    Hmm, doesn’t seem worth it. I think I’ll just download the PSN version, long as it also comes with a manual (if it doesn’t I’ll get the physical standard version).

    Woah, woah, woah… the downloadable version is CHEAPER?! So… will downloadable Vita games be cheaper than the physical versions? If so, total win!

      This is just one case, but I really hope more publishers prices DD versions of games lower, or are at least more conscious of lowering those prices when the prices of retails versions go down. :D

        I think all of our PSP digital releases are (or were) priced below their physical counterparts.

      I hope this is the direction. If Sony wants digital sales to rise, they need to learn you need to offer something that’s different from the physical version. In this case, having it cheaper will encourage some people to download it to save a few bucks, to which it kind of has an effect on me (I kind of want the Special Edition, though).

      Nevertheless, I’m liking these discounted prices.

      cheaper download prices is an Aksys-specific thing. I think they’re the only company that purposely does this.

    That’s good and all, but, it would have been better with a figure… oh well…cool anyways.

    Nice! Er… is the limited edition listed on Amazon, or is it only possible to buy from the Aksys website and/or GameStop?

      It might not be listed yet, but my understanding is that it should be available for purchase from both Amazon and Gamestop. Our site doesn’t support pre-orders, but if we have leftover copies we will sell them on our store, so there’s a chance you could pick it up there too.

      If there’s somewhere else (besides Amazon and Gamestop) where you want to buy/pre-order the game, let me know and I can see if they ordered any.

        Japanese games and stuff usually sell for a bit more, too. The figure probably costs about as much as the game, not twice as much.

        Man, figmas are usually only like $30, that’s not bad. Although I suppose it would have been expensive/impossible to get Max Factory to make another small production of them. Woulda been sweet though…

        Guess I’ll just be happy it’s actually coming on UMD.

    11 songs? If 10 of those are the same as in the Japanese LE, I wonder what the additional one is…

    (Kind of a shame there was no room for a translated version of the Fate/the Fact booklet, though. Maybe that could be released as a watermarked PDF at some later stage, or something?)

          It’s not on gamestop.ca either, though they do have a listing for the LE on their systems in-store. (Which hasn’t been adjusted down to the MSRP yet, ahem.)

    “Sigh” I guess I can live without the Saber figure (Rolls eyes), but where is my $40 localized limited edition? I can’t find it anywhere yet to pre-order. I need to ensure that Caster is my waifu now! >_< lol

    I don’t really have a use for the artbook and such… I’ll just stick with buying the game. For an artbook and CD, an extra 10 bucks isn’t too bad though.
