Kingdom Hearts 3D Features Characters From The World Ends With You

We just had the chance to go hands-on with Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance at the Tokyo Game Show, and ran into a little bit of a surprise – namely Neku, the protagonist of The World Ends With You on Nintendo DS!

 

This is a first for Kingdom Hearts, as the series has typically only featured original characters, Final Fantasy characters and Disney characters up until this point. Something to note, though, is that, like Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You was conceptualized by Tetsuya Nomura.

 

The TGS demo has two parts. In Sora’s episode, you start in Traverse town. Sora calls for Riku, but finds Neku instead who is hanging from a roof. He jumps down and shows Sora the number on his hand and mentions he needs a partner to play the Reapers’ game with.

    Yes!!!! I wonder if they’ll remix a few songs from TWEWY and place it in KH…I would love to hear a Deja Vu remix!

        It’s a countdown timer. It means there are 43 minutes and 10 seconds left in that round of the Reapers’ Game — 43 minutes and 10 seconds left to gain a partner and reach the goal, or lose a chance at revival from death forever.

    As if I couldn’t be even more excited for Kingdom Hearts 3D. THIS shows up! *insert fangirl squeal* 3D Neku!! I wonder with song form the TWEWY soundtrack that Shimomura will do a remix too? Deja Vu? Calling? Twister?

        I had to settle as Skilled because I apparently I didn’t have Mana enough for Genius, unlike Rebecca Miyamoto.

    Lies! This must be lies! Don’t stick Neku in Kingdom Hearts and pretend that’s okay. I want a sequel to TWEWY, not cameos!

       Cameos are like ads. More money goes to future TWEWY productions if you get KH:3Ds! If there’s a good response to TWEWY characters and TWEWY sees a noticeable raise in interest level through this game then there’s an even BETTER chance of a TWEWY 2 happening (though how they could make another game as good as the original is beyond me).

    Why…? Why am I literally crying tears of joy right now…? Ah man! I’m buying this game now just for Neku! TWEWY FTW!!! 

    Edit – Now that I’m back from school, I can finally say this~ I’m so glad that Square Enix hasn’t forgotten about TWEWY! It makes me feel so good inside seeing that TWEWY is finally getting some spotlight in a KH game! I hope that with this, more people will look into TWEWY and buy it so they can also experience the BEST DS game ever… I hope that Neku isn’t just the only TWEWY character! Neku = Sora, Beat = Riku, and Shiki = Kairi (can’t see who Joshua would be if linked to a KH character). Not to mention… NEKU IS PLAYING THE REAPER GAME?! They brought TWEWY main story sequence into KH! I’m going crazy here! Square Enix, Tetsuya Noura, KH Team… TWEWY 2 on 3DS. Make. It. Happen. NOW.

      i say josh is more like riku, secretive, has his own private plans, and also has the skills to back that up, and Pi-Face= Xemnas?? cuz they both over think stuff,but neku=sora,shiki=kiari is so true,Koki is soooo Axel, man i cant wait for this game and i hope they bring back all twewy characters,im glad there going further that just disney. and idk who beat would be like, also having twewy added to it meens that worlds arnt just confined to disney/final fantasy,BRING NINTENDO INTO THE MIX,SQUARE! also 777 is like axel, more than koki.

    Why am I the only person in the world that thinks that a sequel to TWEWY would ruin it forever? I cringed when I read this (although, admittedly, it is kinda cool to see Neku in 3D).

      This won’t be a sequel… It’s another game in  the Kingdom Hearts Series that some TWEWY characters get to be in! :D It’s a crossover, I don’t think it has much to do with TWEWY’s story though…

      If it were a straight-up sequel, I’d agree.  But I’m so in love with that universe that I’d love to see more of it.  My preferred idea of a sequel would include the same bad guys, but new protagonists.  Neku & company have been through enough.  They more than deserve a break.

    I hope that koki and uzuki make an appearance in this game! Even though they were techically bad guys, they were still my favorite characters. TWEWY 4EVER!!!

    I’ve never played TWEWY, but I wanted to and i thought most of the characters looked really kool. And question who was the dark skinned guy with the ball cap and flame tats on his arm? He looked kool.

    THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU IS ONE OF THE BEST RPG GAMES FOR THE DS. i’m so glad i got it when it came out and then now it’s on Kingdom hearts? Life just got good.

    The only thing im worried about it that YWexplained through the game and in the reports. There no time lapse either 7 day week ro three weeks not much goof off time for TWEWY. It’s story is solidEWY has no plotholes. everything is

    Josh is more like Xemas because he manipulates the main character the whole time. Beat is a dumb Riku because like riku he swicthed sides and swicthed back, in my opinion Beat had a better cause. Neku is more like Roxas than sora , Shiki is Namine beacause they both got secerts. Pi-Face is psycho manly  Flower boy. Koki and Uzuki= mohawk boy and Larxene. Cat remonds me of Axel just a layed back grown up version. The Tiger chick is more like Larxene then Uzuki. The Conductor is Xemas for sure.
