Pop N Music Portable 2 Hopping Onto PSN With Downloadable DemoCurious about the Pop ‘n Music series, but don’t want to import a game without trying it first? Konami will solve this conundrum by releasing a demo of Pop ‘n Music Portable 2 on PlayStation Network in Japan. As of now, this game is only for Japan.

Konami announced the news at Tokyo Game Show, but did not set a date for the demo. Originally an arcade game with a colorful controller, Konami brought the Pop ‘n Music series to PSP. It’s quite different from the Wii game since you press button instead of waving a remote and there’s an adventure mode where you can collect objects to decorate your house party.

The game will support downloadable content and first print copies include a code to download twenty songs for free.

I’m quite content with another Pop’n Music on the PSP, but I’d still like to see a new CS Pop’n for PS3 or something.

I still need to import Pop’n Music Portable… I heard it plays similarly to DJMAX.

      It really does.

That is perfectly fine with me.  Means I should be kind of good at it, haha.

It takes a while getting used to though.  The control scheme is completely different.

It does, but it’s nothing like the arcade version, which is much more fun to play.

Oh, I’ve played Pop’n Music 17 at my local arcade, it’s just that I don’t have many chances to go there… and when I do, I usually play a round of DJMAX Technika 2…

This is a good time to be a music and rhythm game fan. Pop ‘N Music has awesome tracks, from what I’ve looked up on YouTube.

Ah, so sad. At first, I thought that said the second game in the series period. I love the music and gameplay looks fun, but I was always so sad that we never got any of them (and the Wii one was just so different).

Pop’n Music is a game I thought would be great on DS. Just like Musical GunGun should be ported to the Wii.

Ugh, just make a 360/PS3 line already. I’ll order the huge Konamistyle controller I don’t care, just do it.

There’s a version on XBLA but it’s awful.

    Me: :D
    “in Japan”
    Me: :(

This is why I have a Japanese PSN account, but also mostly for the cooler PS3/PSP themes they have…

Again, something I would like to see here in the states….but on PS3, not the stupid PSP. I’m getting tired at being angry at Japan for supporting that thing so fiercely with exclusive games:(

“PSP Remaster program”. It’s a thing, Japan. Please support it. And not just for stupid Monster Hunter HD ports:(
