imageDark Souls is out in Japan, but From Software may have shipped the game a little too early. The highly anticipated title launched with bugs that froze the game when played online. After noting the problems, From Software shut down the servers and said they were working on the issue.

They found the flaws and plan to release a patch for Dark Souls sometime next week. From Software offered fans a heartfelt apology to their fans for the trouble.

Dark Souls launches in North America on October 4 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It’s unclear if any of the issues will affect the game’s international release.
