3DS Browser Lets You View Super Mario 3D Land Screenshots In 3DThere are a few ways to distribute 3D screenshots for Nintendo 3DS titles. Some publishers send images you can copy onto a SD card to view in 3D via the system’s photo application.

Nintendo has a better solution for Super Mario 3D Land. Go to this page: http://tinyurl.com/6curhfs with your Nintendo 3DS browser to cycle through screenshots of Mario running into the gate of Bowser’s castle and tightrope walking through a ring of coins.

Super Mario 3D Land comes out on November 13.

aw man is 3D great or really great?
im still delaying in my purchase of a 3ds and sometimes i dont know if Im missing out on a whole new dimension of the future or just a cheap gimmick.

I think it’s just a gimmick. But I do like the 3D effect with the games even though it doesn’t add anything to the gameplay. To me, it’s just like an upgrade from SD to HD only better.

well the 3DS devs did say they originally intended 3D to be a big impact in gameplay like Mario games. and the “gimmick” comes later for those who only enjoys watching things in 3D.
as for me it’s great they added 3D. i enjoy it because of both…nuff said xD

Yeah, they did say that. But I just can’t think of any big gameplay mechanic that can only be done in 3D. Maybe in the future, a developer will surprise us with their use of 3D as a gameplay mechanic.

I do think that 3D is great too and I enjoy it.

Put it this way – if you think dynamic shadows, bloom, and other shader effects add to the overall presentation of a video game, then you’ll probably think of 3D the same.

      It’s pretty great. :P

I think ill appreciate 3D more if they start showing more depth with backgrounds and such. The only 3D I really hate is 3D in movies. A lot of it is just bad.

This. For some reason the 3D I see in the theatres has this kind of layered, paper look. Nothing has volume or depth, and I couldn’t understand why until I recently went to a convention dealing with different kinds of stereoscopic cameras.

It’s because the 3D in movies is taken with a camera designed to make things “pop-out.” 3DS (though some games do have “pop-out” elements on occasion) is designed so that 3D is more depth-based, as if you’re looking into a box. I imagine this decision was made because pop-out effects don’t work as well on small screens as they do on giant screens.

Actually they have filmed it in 2d then edited it for fake angles. Shameful.

You’re kidding. More than capable 3D cameras exist. They shouldn’t be doing that.

The 3D screen shots look really nice. From checking out a few screens, it looks like the majority of developers are favouring the depth 3D rather than the pop-out 3D, which I’m actually really thankful for because the pop-out 3D tends to hurt my eyes, while the depth 3D doesn’t. I have no idea why though.
