There Is A Legend Of The Heroes: Trails In The Sky Anime Too

By Spencer . October 3, 2011 . 11:18pm

Persona 4 isn’t the only video game with an anime adaptation. Falcom and animation house Kinema Citrus are creating an original video animation for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky.

If you want to see more than six minutes you’ll have to wait until November 25. Fans can pick up a limited edition bundle which includes the anime of Blu-ray, an event pamphlet, film pieces (selected by Falcom), and a 16 page booklet for 8,190 yen ($107).

damn the blu ray footage is jaw dropping O_O

for some reason the opening reminded me of Valkyria Chronicles :P

  • Draparde

    Wow this looks pretty awesome.

  • epsilonalpha

Be warned though as this PV has spoiler for TitS FC.

    • Ladius

Second Chapter too – people should avoid this video if they don’t like Trails in the Sky spoilers.

The video’s still image itself is a spoiler, maybe there should be a tag in the news’ title.

      • epsilonalpha

Agree, putting some spoiler information should be nice.

    • Kevin (lightningrook)

Heck, the freakin’ *preview image* is a spoiler if you’re like me and haven’t finished FC yet (though the tension is pretty obvious)

      • epsilonalpha

Well I expected them to spoilerkissspoiler about 10 minutes into the game, what really count as spoiler is after it.

        • http://www.ukanime.com abigsmurf

It’s kinda amusing that they literally put in the last scene of the first game in the trailer (and unfortunate it’s what shows up in the still).

          • epsilonalpha

It’s likely not an unfortunate accident, you can choose your still image picture for video on Youtube.

I assume they assume that people who is interested in buying the BD are fans who have completed LoH TitS thus no problem seeing the spoiler.

      • Ladius

Someone should warn the Siliconera staff in order to put a spoiler warning in the title.

      • OneOkami

Yeah, the only thing I can say in consolation is…are you surprised?  Well, that and there’s a LOT more to that scene than that “contact” (*wink*).  Keep playing!

  • skymap

I haven’t watched anime since middle school, but watching this it made me think it was very much like the old 90s anime that were localized en masse at the beginning of the millennium.

The quality of the animations is good and this rendition of the theme song is good as well. What’s especially nice is their rendering of a battle in animation and giving off the feeling of the game I’d like to see the next chapter X-SEED! Looking forward to it (and supporting you on GKH).

  • GodOxidian

You just noticed now ? lol

  • Playlife_2

This will be some kind of OVA or actually an anime series like Persona 4, because there’s still no information on MyAnimeList.

It’s only planned to be 2 OVAs if I’m not wrong. I wish they would make a series like P4A. :’(

      • Ladius

Yeah, as much as I love Trails I really can’t see the merit of a two episode OVA that will cut almost all of the series’depth. It could be cool for those who are already fans, but I can easily see those who haven’t played the games be unimpressed.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Leafy_Cam Leafhopper

Thank God its only 2 OVA’s At least it isnt Tales of Symphonia that took 6 years or so to finish 8 episodes.

  • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

I could have thought someone told me about the OVA awhile back. Ill probably watch it instead of the games.

    • http://myanimelist.net/profile/Kuronoa Kuronoa

You want to skip the games? :(

      • alundra311

He’ll skip it because of the graphics or the little to no voice-overs.

    • Ladius

The first two games are almost 150 hours to complete, I really doubt a two episode OVA will capture even 1% of the Trails series’ rich setting, characters and plot.

Also, you’re missing out on one of the best classical jrpgs released in years.

As long as it has lots of Estelle being her awesome self, that’s all I want. Estelle is so lovable!

  • kenichi_san

    This i like!

  • Okuni-chan

    Want!!!

  • http://twitter.com/endlesshistory Endless History

    As a heads up, last I checked, Amazon.co.jp has the blu-ray collector’s
set for like… 6,000 yen for preorder, and DVD/blu-rays are able to be
shipped outside of the country from them.

I can not wait for this!! But I think Joshua sounds a bit too soft

  • http://www.carpefulgur.com SpaceDrake

This video is basically a big ol’ spoiler for early in Trails in the Sky SC, just for the record. It’s basically an adapted version of the last boss fight at the end of Act 1. May want to mark that, Spencer.

  • Altoire

    want D:

  • Solomon_Kano

Haven’t played the games (yet), but this I must have. Hiiiigh production values right there. Usually, in my experience, 3D animation and 2D tend to look awkward when paired together but that looked excellent.

  • Wooop leeh woooop

I am fangirling so hard right now

    • alundra311

I read your comment as “I am a fangirl and so hard right now”. LOL.

      • http://twitter.com/Megawarrior345 Elle

lmfao get your mind out the gutter!

  • http://otoboku.se manga

Lovely. Looks good and based on such a good game. Everything should be awesome.

But why do they spoil so much from the game in this trailer? Not fun, not fun at all.

    • Joanna

Thanks for the warning. I’m glad I checked the comments before watching. I haven’t played the game yet and I wouldn’t want it spoiled for me.

    MY MONEEEYY!!! T_______T

But I have to have it.
