Next Nintendo 3DS Color Is Cool As Ice

Next Nintendo 3DS Color Is Cool As IceNintendo has another 3DS color that matches the holiday season. Japan gets Ice White handhelds on November 3 for the standard console price of 15,000 yen ($195). Like other Nintendo 3DS hardware colors, the system is two toned with a black top screen inside.

 

Current Nintendo 3DS colors include Aqua Blue, Cosmos Black, Flare Red and starting October 20 Misty Pink.

    That’s nice but I still want that purple one they  showed a while ago.

    Not much of a fan of white systems. Causes me a lot of trouble with the screen brightness. I’ll be happy with the black or red one. Ideally i’d get a purple one, as that’s been the colour of my GBC, GBA and Gamecube.

    rar, have to admit that looks really sharp >w<' Especially with the stylus/buttons giving it a slight silver accent. In general though I've had bad experiences with white systems losing there crispness, after awhile they do kind of dull a little, even with the best care. I'll still hold out on 3DS though. At least until Advance Wars o3o;

    Should have been a launch SKU Nintendo. Come on. I don’t get why companies release such a limited amount of colours for their gaming systems at launch, only to release a slew of new ones 6 months down the line. It’s the most annoying thing.

      Sometimes, different colours require different materials in order to be produced. They never touched upon the specifics of it but the black Wii, for instance, had to be made using a different material than the regular white Wii, and it took them 2.5 years to get the materials sorted out. 

      Splitting up your manufacturing lines at launch probably isn’t something you want to do, and instead just focus on getting as many systems out there as you can. Though I’m sure part of it is just wanting to have something “new” to draw people’s attention with further down the line as well.

        Yeah definitely. I’m assuming they don’t want to release a bunch of colors at launch all at once so the less popular ones don’t sell as much as they could have or not at all.

        OK thats a fair/accurate answer for why it takes longer to make additional colors, for Nintendo anyway Sony and MS seem to be better equipped manufacturing wise. Ishaan here is the question I have always asked though once the color is made why do they not release them outside of Japan, Sony in particular is terrible with this, the PS2 especially had at least 20 different colors and not one of them saw mass production release outside of Japan. For the life of me I can never understand why.

    Nintendo sure does a lot to invigorate the market. 

    Flare Red, Price Drop, Analog Add-on, Misty Pink, Ice White.

    I don’t think hardware colors will invigorate the market, but awesome games sure will. But you have that covered this Winter and next year (^o^)b

    Finally, a colour I like. Now all it needs is a bigger screen, an extra Thumb Pad and the stylus needs moving… And obviously, more NEW games.

      Agreed the screens definitely need to be bigger, but when you list it like that its pretty obvious we need a completely new design.

        And I might just wait and see. I always finally buy a new DS just before they announce a redesign. There aren’t enough games on it I want just yet so Im happy to wait seeing as importing games I want isn’t an option. Plus Im getting a PSVita anyway so I’ll have that to keep me occupied.

    This is ok but its a bit bland and the layer cake color design is lost on this. I wonder if this color will release outside of Japan? Oh well not like I can swap out anyway, I would loose my ambassador program and I don’t need two 3DS’s. Also Nintendo there is the color called Purple, you should make a 3DS in one…..-_-

    Man, wish the white was one of the lauch colors.. I have the Jpn Aqua and Black US and not very thrilled w/ either.. if white were a choice I would chosen that over aqua..

    I’m about to send my US 3DS to NoA for a little hinge operation, finally done d/l’ing the DoAD costumes every night for a whole month *.*..

    At least I am okay with the Flare Red 3DS white looks awesome but I am not buying anymore handhelds for the year.

    That looks nice, would love to get it but remembering how my DS Lite looks now… *sigh* Stupid dirt going underneath the transparent plastic layer at the side, impossible to get it out…

      Try needles and toothpicks— it didn’t get ALL of the dirt out but mine looks a million times better than it did before. =]
