SNK just released another King of Fighters game for iPhone, but The King of Fighters Encounter isn’t your typical fighting game. It’s essentially a Streetpass app with characters from The King of Fighters.
Players start by picking their favorite fighter out of the 21 character roster. Then you step outside and search for other people playing the game. Pass someone and your characters fight automatically. After the hands-off match, the game exchanges custom messages between players. You can level up your fighter in training mode or by participating in events like punching sandbags for experience points.
Online ranking keep track of the top players in each area, country, and the world. Huh. Could that mean SNK is going to release The King of Fighters Encounter for other regions. The King of Fighters Encounter is a free game available now for iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, iPod Touch, and iPad.
