Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi Strikes Back With New Battle System

Namco Bandai created a new battle system for Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi. Dubbed the "range system" players are either in "grapple range" where you fight with your fists or "shooting range" where you use projectiles.

Like all Dragon Ball Z games, Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi has flashy special attacks. You can counter these in Ultimate Tenkaichi by selecting intercept as your defense reaction. This triggers a button mashing battle and the winner’s special attack hits their opponent. Take a look at some of the special moves below.

This is one of my most anticipated game , I haven’t played Burst Limit , Raging Blast 1 n 2 , but I have played the PS2 one like Budokai Tenkaichi 1 and 2

Hey, if I’m gonna make a character, I can at least make one I would like to see~
I’m not interested in making a saiyan male, or a male saiyan, if that’s your implication.

If you’re familiar with the arcade card game Dragon Ball Heroes (look it up on Youtube), the stock default create a characters in this game were pulled from that game. Only thing they didnt add were the female versions, the Buu hero race and the Freeza and Cell race. Also there’s a female version of that famous Japanese singer who sung the theme to Dragonball Evolution movie.

I’m sad too about the fact that the character creation isn’t as good as what I thought it could be, but I’m hoping the game does well so by the 2nd game(Which everyone knows there will be) We can make characters of every race in the dbz universe, and hell if we’re lucky even do a original story creator. (wishful thinking on the last thing lol)

Not saying that it won’t be good, but this was a chance for a DBZ game to be truely outstanding again.
But honestly, anyone who has seen this new system in action should know that it feels intrusive and unnecessary; they could’ve made it appealing if they had tryed to make it near-seamless, but it basically just plays out as one big quick-time event:-(

The gameplay based on what I saw is a huge disappointment. I’d rather get a Raging Blast 3 to be honest.

So it’ better to have a fighting game that you can’t actually fight in. BT3 had great gameplay, and not sense of move spamming. Next they make a Super Mario Game that plays it’s self. Oh the already do, but at least that is a option you can pick to use.

I really hope they use all of the original Funimation dubbed voices and not the replaced Funimation Kai voices.

Sadly that’s the cast they use, I really think Gohan’s new voice and the other Kai replacements seriously don’t fit IMO, *sigh* I miss Stephanie Nadolny (Hope that’s spelled right LOL!), she played Gohan and Kid Goku the best!
