Teddie is a central to the story in Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. He’s hosting the tournament inside the Midnight Channel and he’s a playable character classified as a tricky type. Teddie comes to the fight bearing his claws as a primary weapon and his persona Kintoki Douji.

Naoto Shirogane is also a playable character in the Arc System Works developed fighting game. Her main weapon is a gun, so she falls into the shooting type category. These screenshots show Naoto calling Sukuna Hikona for what appear to be melee attacks.

Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena is slated for release in arcades this spring with a console version on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in summer 2012.

    News of a domestic release cant come soon enough, though I will mostly main as Yusuke anyway, so cool in the anime. Surprised Teddie has combat capabilities. Havent encounter naoto yet.

      Ohhh… I’m assuming you haven’t finished the main game. Well, you see this game is actually a sequel to the main game. But I can’t tell you why they’re not wearing their glasses. HUGE SPOILER if I say even a word.

        well due to circumstances i no longer have a TV to finish it off ._. only my PC monitor which the PS2 won’t work with. i got to around Naoto first appearance, so i don’t even know his/her gender.

          I see. Well, I hope you can find a good monitor or TV to work with the PS2. It is a must you finish it ‘cuz once you’re done with Naoto’s dungeon, you’ll have only a few more to go. And you’ll see the twist to it all.

      I saw somewhere the glasses are an optional accessory you can choose to have on or off during the character selection screen.

    Teddie still has Kintoki-Douji even though he gets Kamui during the storyline.

    I figured at least HE would have his ultimate persona. I wonder what the explanation will be…

      My guess is that everyone will have their upgraded Personae in their ‘Unlimited’ version, assuming they’re carrying that mechanic over from BlazBlue/Guilty Gear.

    Naoto can use Hama or mudo skill that’s so overkill considering she uses gun as weapon too… XD

      You’re right. That’s kind of odd, considering that she stayed in Inaba.

      Even stranger is why Yuu is wearing the Yasogami uniform when he DIDN’T stay in Inaba.

        Obviously this spinoff, like Melty Blood, continues from a route to the original game that was never written.

        Though damned if I could tell you what kind of ending would involve Naoto leaving Inaba, Brotagonist staying, and Teddie becoming a pirate.

    So it really does look like Teddie plays as Bison, or at least a nod to it…I figured the screenshots wouldn’t be too misleading.

      If they make any reference to the non-Japanese Street Fighter names I’d personally be surprised if they don’t make an A~kuma reference.

    I noticed in all the pics with Naoto that her opponent has a skull symbol under their HP bar.

      It probably has something to do with her Persona’s spells. If memory serves, she was focused around Light/Dark (Instant Kills) and Almighty (Big Elementless Damage). She also was a big user of Mind Charge (2.5x damage increase for next non-physical attack) and she had some physical attacks.

      Giving someone access to projectiles doesn’t make them a Shoto.

      Also, ArcSys isn’t Crapcom, they’ll find a way to implement a character with access to projectiles uniquely.

      You know there’s only two empty spaces on the roster left, right?

      Plus, I think we all know the odds of any Persona 3 characters other than Aigis (who got in primarily because she was the Japanese fan favourite by a landslide) are slim to none, particularly when there are still more eligible Persona 4 characters unconfirmed.

      If anyone, my money for the characters in the last two slots is on Margaret and (SPOILER: READ BACKWARDS) ihcada.

    Now all we need are to see who’ll be occupying the last two boxes. Hopefully they’re P3 characters, so Aigis won’t be alone. So they can provide assistance should she need HALP.

    I didn’t like using Naoto much in P4 but Naoto looks great in this. I’m split between Naoto and Kanji as my fave so far. Yukiko too.

      lol, that’s what I said about the website. But Fitzkrieg says that the middle spot is for the random button. It’ll probably be for Rise and tell you what she does in P4U, or something. XD Plus there’s 4 extra spots in the twitter icons in the special section. Wonder what/who those will be after they add in Naoto & Teddie.
