The game has three different perspectives. Battlefield mode gives you a rough idea about how fights are progressing. You can direct groups of units to attack at once. Units you send out will automatically attack after you give them orders, but you can zoom in on the action in local area mode. This pauses the action and lets players micromanage battles.
