Is Dead World The Sequel To Dead Island?

After Deep Silver released a slick teaser trailer, Dead Island jumped into the media spotlight and became one of Techland’s best selling games. Games that sell well tend to get sequels, so we won’t be too surprised if Dead Island 2 is in the works.

Techland hasn’t announced one… yet, but it seems like plans are in the works. The Poland based publisher filed a trademark for Dead World in the U.S., which suggests the zombie outbreak is leaving the island of Banoi. Anyone up for a zombie game set in a bigger world?

I’m actually glad this is getting a sequel. (If it is a sequel.) I heard Dead Island is a game with great potential, but does a lot of things wrong. If they fix some of those things and refine that crafting system in the next game, I have a feeling it could be great.

I’m looking forward to this, I never played Dead Island but I’ve watched plenty of gameplay videos. It would be nice to see a zombie game set somewhere more realistic for a change. L4D is alright but your path is pretty much set, a free roaming survival game would be nice with the weapon building element of Dead Island. ^^

Dead Island is kind of like a free roaming game. After you finish the first mission you get access to the whole resort, which is kinda big. And after you finish the resort map, you get access to different maps and can travel between them whenever you want. Kind of like how GTA and Read Dead limit you to certain areas in the beginning but open up as you make progress.

Yeah, i’m definitely in no hurry for this one. I tried really hard to like it despites it’s numerous gamebreaking bugs and relatively lackluster presentation, but I couldn’t do it. I even returned it last week; the Delayed DLC was the final nail in the coffin for me.
One thing I can say, however, is that Who do you voodoo, Bitch, is an awesome song.

Lol, you use a half-assed reply to attempt to bash the Xbox? I searched the web and I found no evidence that Techland or Deep Silver said anything about “catering around the xbox” or it “producing ugly games”….. Multi-platform games (PS3,Xbox) don’t have better graphics on one console or the other… PS3 lacks the power to run Fallout or the Elder Scrolls decently (which is very sad), even said by the devs themselves. http://www.1up.com/news/fallout-new-vegas-developer-explains-skyrim-lag
