Skyrim is going to destroy any productivity of mine for the week. Or month.

  • OneOkami

Looking forward to Project Diva Extend.  I’m actually still having a blast with 2nd/Dreamy Theater.

  • malek86

Skyrim for me, hoping it won’t suck this time. Oh oh oh, Bethesda, I’m giving one final chance. If you blow it, sucks to be you, and my time will be better spent completing Arena.

I might also have to check out Shinobi… depending on the price.

    • Ereek

I understand your fears. You might want to hold off a while on Skyrim simply because Bethesda games are usually a buggy mess on release day. That and in ~6 months there will be mods that should help you enjoy it even if you loathe the changes.

Of course, having to use mods to enjoy a game is inexcusable in itself. I’m relatively certain I’ll enjoy the game, but I am disappointed by the lack of options and removal of some things (stats, factions).

Even if you don;t enjoy the gameplay, if you enjoy the Lore of the series it might be worth it to see the way the world has changed in the hundreds of years post-Oblivion. Poor, poor Morrowind.

      • malek86

Bugs aren’t that big of a problem, I played Morrowind a lot even on release and it didn’t particularly hinder my enjoyment of the game (yeah, I fell off the game world a couple times, and some quests were bugged, but in the end it worked). Also it can’t be worse than Arena, that game leaks memory like crazy, it automatically crashes or resets my DOS PC every couple hours. Right now I’m just worried that it’s gonna be yet another Oblivion.

Well, I do think I’ll enjoy the game, they said it’s more like Fallout 3, and I kinda liked Fallout 3 (although I got bored after just 50 hours). Also I prefer the TES lore, so yeah, that’s another advantage. The mods will come later and I’ll definitely replay it in even better fashion when they come out, but in the meantime, I want to see what exactly Bethesda has achieved by themselves.

The lore will definitely help, although I have to admit I’m not a fan of Skyrim in Arena. Too much snow and fog… well, those are the only distinctions, because the rest of the game pretty much all looks the same. 1994 technology FTW.

I literally just finished the last song on 2nd today so Extend is coming at the right time.

Good jobs, now try and even ‘attempt’ to ‘finish’ the song in ‘extreme’ modo with no assist items *Evil Laugh*
      My deepest condolences in advance
“Wow, this isn’t too har- WAH!!! WTFing SHEET??!!”

      • Syltique

I’ve finished all but 5 on extreme.  I know I can probably knock another 2-3 – but some of them, I don’t think I ever will in a million years.

        • MarkMario

There’s a few songs I’ve still haven’t perfected on Extreme and I still haven’t been able to complete Hatsune Miku No Geikishou on EXTREME T_T
+ Gained about 4.5 mill points on it for playing way too much.

  • Dokurochan

Finally, Project Diva Extend comes out and even though it isn’t on the list, Aselia the Eternal also finally got released. Too bad I won’t be able to play either of them for a couple more weeks ’cause I’m cheap and only payed for the low-priced slower shipping.

Can’t believe I’ll have to import MGS HD  Collection and Peace Walker HD because the american version refused to add the japanese voices. What better chance to give the people that wanted to try them than the HD retouched version? I’ve always played MGS in japanese and when I tried the english voices I always fell off my chair laughing as I have a drunkard uncle that sounds just like Hayter’s Snake. It’s one of those “once you heard it, you can’t unhear it” scenarios, I CANNOT take dubbed Snake seriously.

No matter how you see it, the english package is a great deal and the
japanese versions are a rip off, kinda. Still I’ll have to get at least Peace
Walker as I skipped the PSP version waiting for something just like this.

Hope that for the next console MS makes they get their act together on their game media so their parity rule stops holding the PS3 back. (Not hating on XBOX users, you guys rock FLAMESHIELDON).

    tldr
Wish they added the japanese voices.

EDIT: Wow, my comment has to be reviewed because of the mention of that word. Siliconera is a classy place indeed.

    • mikanko

I think it’s pretty doubtful Japanese voices were excluded to keep parity between the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.  It’s possible, but dubious.

There are cases like Vesperia where the US 360 disc had most of the Japanese language still found on the disc, but no selectable way of hearing it in the game.  Or cases like Project Sylpheed where the game will be fully playable in Japanese if your system settings are set to Japan, but no option to play the Japanese voices with English menus/text.

It’s more likely they just don’t see the added cost in licenses and effort entailed as being worth it.  If I recall correctly I think Kojima has even said he prefers the English dub, as MGS2 was re-released in Japan with only English audio.    They probably think interest in hearing them is rather low.  They might well be right, which sucks.
