What Are These Square Enix Logos For?

Square Enix is getting more secretive when it comes to trademarks. Instead of registering terms for potential titles, the publisher is now filing logos.

We found those two images registered by Square Enix in Japan and Europe. Any guesses to what games or franchises these might be tied to? Since both were filed by Square Enix Japan we can probably rule out Square Enix Europe project like Hitman and Just Cause.

    I didn’t even know they could file logos alone. Huh. I’m interested to see what these will be. Hopefully, they’ll be for Vita or 3DS — all I want from Squenix on my PS3 is Versus and XIII-2 atm.

      You can trademark just about everything these days, which is part of the reason why it’s so blasted easy to file trademark infringement lawsuits too.  As far as these logos go, I haven’t the foggiest idea what in the world they may be attached to so I will wait and see if these games are worthwhile or not.

    Well, that’s easy! The logo to the left is for a pick-up truck deal with Dodge. The Dodge® Square Ram™ to be exact. The logo to the right is a super car deal with Ashton Martin. The Ashton Martin® DBS(quare)™ to be exact. （＾ｖ＾）

    Seriously, I wonder what it is? It’s kind of ambiguous, no? Anyway, like @Solomon_Kano:disqus , I hope it’s for the 3DS or Vita, 3DS would be nice, though! I already have one of those! (◕‿◕✿)

      I think you’re onto something, but what if it goes deeper!? Perhaps Square is finally throwing their hat into the racing game… game? Games within games. :O

    The A has wings and would most likely mean Angels… and TWEWY has angels therefore it is a sequel to TWEWY with that logo as part of the title.

      TWEWY had angels? I thought they were shinigami/reapers (hence the Reaper’s Game)? Their wings looked more demonic than holy as well. Not that I wouldn’t want a TWEWY sequel. It’s actually one of the games I most want to get a sequel (the other was 999 but that’s already been taken care of. ;D )

        Angels were mostly detailed in the secret report, as indeed the game focuses on reapers.  The producer for instance is supposed to be an angel.

    Uh…..I’m never good at these, so I’m just randomly guessing.

    Okay. The one with the blue shield has something to do with war I bet, so there may be a new Frontier Mission game.

    The one with the wings……well everybody else already took my answers, so I’ll just say that maybe it is a sign that they are nicer and they’ll finally make a sequel to Chrono Cross. Either that or they’re almost done making Final Fantasy 7 remake for PS3.

    Again, just guessing….. ._.

      Hmm I actually don’t have much of a past with Square Enix, so I kind of just made up some ridiculous theories, as you can tell. 

      I thought about the possibility of a game like Dante’s Inferno, since the emblem to the left is kind of scary, really. It reminds me of hell(Not that I’ve ever been there, but you know what I mean!).

      But yeah, your guess is better than mine ◕_◕

        You know… I was thinking that the one on the left could be for Army Corps of Hell, but we already know about that game. Glad I’m not the only one who was reminded of hell though. Well, not reminded but…

    That one on the right reminds me of Assassin’s Creed, because of the inverted ‘V’ I think. So that makes me think of Thief, which we all know Eidos Montreal is working on. But like Siliconera says, this was trademarked by Square Japan, not Square Europe, so I dunno. The other thing makes me think of Warhammer 40k Space Marines, for some reason. It looks like a sports team emblem or something.

    I have no clue what either could be. But if it’s coming from Japan, they’re probably just for PSP games, so who cares?

      Everyone who has a PSP probably cares, myself included. Though I doubt they’ll be PSP titles.

      Eidos Montreal is in Canada anyways, not Europe.

      But the right one reminds me of Assassin’s Creed too.

    It could be fucking anything, it’s not even worth thinking about.

    Doesn’t look like anything I know, anyway.

    They’re just going to pull some new game or a game for a series we’re already familiar with and be like HURRDURR this logo is one of the new major plot points of this army in the game adgdfhgkjdsghfkjds

    The one to the left looks like a Final Fantasy game and the one to the right is probably a Final Fantasy game.

    It would seem that Square-Enix are making the Last Remnant 2. As they recently acquired a new license for using the Unreal engine. Speculating I think that the A is for Athlum and the other symbol is probably for the Conquerors army. But in all honesty its probably Final Fantasy :-)
