Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 Is Getting The PS3 Remaster Treatment

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 Is Getting The PS3 Remaster TreatmentTecmo Koei is taking advantage of Sony’s PS3 remaster program with a PSP port, according to this week’s issue of Famitsu. The magazine says Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 will be released for PlayStation 3 as Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 HD. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD was the first PSP remaster title, which has upgraded graphics and PSP save data compatibility.

We’re not *too* surprised since Koei ported Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce, which was originally a PSP game, to PS3 and Xbox 360 on their own. Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2, a mix of Monster Hunter and Musou style hack ‘n slash, was originally planned for an overseas release. Koei canceled the title, but perhaps will consider localizing the PlayStation 3 version.

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 HD supports ad-hoc party and is slated for release 2012.

For someone that has next to zero interest in musou games, color me interested.

When I read “a mix of Monster Hunter and Musou style hack ‘n slash”. I’ll have to look at some reviews now I guess.

Forget reviews. Play it yourself and you will know whether you like it or not within 10 minutes.

I personally disliked Strikeforce when I played it at a friends house and then LOVED it when I bought my own copy.

I love the Musou series, but the first StrikeForce game was probably the worst experience I had with the series. Maybe it’s just me, but the map structure and pacing felt really bland and uninteresting.

Then again, I hope there are others PSP Remaster in the future, since the PSP lineup has a lot of untapped potential.

KOEI waited too long on porting this to console.
Hype for Strikeforce died a year ago

The PSP remasters are still an idea that I love, but it’s a pity that SCEA (or any other publisher) seems to have little interest in bringing them over.

Then again, I think I read something about it having to do with the remasters not having trophies and some other stuff. So I get why they won’t, but still. I want MHP3rd on PS3 lol.

The RPG-ish elements of Strikeforce is definitely interesting for long-term playing with my favorite character(s).  If it supports split-screen multiplayer for the main campaign mode I’ll get it without blinking, but I’m guessing it won’t…

i hope this one make to oversea =(
