Final Fantasy VII’s Opening Scene Gets A New First Person Perspective

By Spencer . December 5, 2011 . 2:43pm

While this isn’t the Final Fantasy VII remake you’re dreaming of, fans in Spain remade the PsOne game’s opening area using Unreal Engine. Cloud looks a bit stiff and his hair goes Super Saiyan for a moment, but it’s impressive work especially being a learning exercise on how to create a video game.

You can download the Final Fantasy VII demo here, which lets players explore a tiny bit of Midgar through Cloud’s eyes. Since this Final Fantasy VII project isn’t authorized by Square Enix, it might not stick around online too long. Remember Chrono Resurrection?

Did anyone else go “Noooooo, don’t forget to take the potions!” when the camera moved away after Cloud blew up the soldiers? XD

Also, yay for Zack cameo! And I like how Cloud just punched the passcode panel to get the gate to open. LOL.

I don’t wanna remake for better graphics, I want a remake so I can actually PLAY the game.
